Hey. I'm gonna repeat what's probably a really familiar and overdone request, but it's to add in a save function, or at least make it optional.
Especialy while it's in development, having to lose progress to certain scenes and checkpoints due to non-compatible saves between versions is punishing enough. My latest save loaded near the first fountain, and my character just walked into the bench forever, probably because a new variable saw it was "the first time I was there" and tried to do the intro movement ;(
There are many ways around the non-saving aspect. It's just cumbersome to do.
Also, that bug diagnosis was fast as hell. It looks like you have good coding practice. Fun game so far, keep it up!
I do have a small list of things both bug and not, which I think is worth bringing up:
- Buffing moves from the Goddess Statue trees (concentration, healing etc...) seem to refund more stamina than they cost, have no cooldown, and also don't take a turn. While nice to have, are definitely too abusable.
- I'm not sure if the Crows have any elemental weaknesses? I cycled through and they seemed to be neutral or resist everything.
- I swapped around some accessories, and suddenly, the Magic option in fights has disappeared? I couldn't find any item descriptions that disabled magic, but it was strange.
- Fights seem to encourage Full Bloodlust builds only, as even at max level, Crows do way too much damage, so bursting them down seems to be the only safe option.
- I didn't know what the goddess statue options were for, so I was leery about touching them until late game experimenting. I didn't know what they were for until the end.
- If possible, could you please add an in-game menu or resource that outlines all the unlockable skills, as well as numerical values on what they do? Resources are limited, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to roll back Skill points.
- Same as above for status effects too actually, as well as how to remove them. I didn't know you could clear bleeding(?) with a Skill point move, so I just rested every time. Very punishing. Still not sure what getting drunk does, and the downsides of the alcohol consumables.
- My laptop is so bricky that it's literally impossible for me to do the fishing minigame mash. Can you please add an option to make it the same as mining?
Great game so far btw. Good standalone RPG. Looking forward to more.
Alright, hate to be the downer here, but I got no choice anymore...
- The rare treasure farm is the worst of nearly any game. The Gold Treasure Finder should not have to have so, much, RNG. In my game, the bar has been bright crimson for 10 explore cycles, and I still haven't even seen 1 gold chest yet
- Decent damaging spells are way, WAY too mana expensive. It should not go from 0 to 15 (at best...)
- Lava Rays are disgustingly overtuned. Why to they randomly take 20% damage from EVERYTHING, and have more health than EVERYTHING up to that point too?
- Where's the AOE? Fighting multiple enemies is frustrating as all hell. The bloody Slimes are worse than the Jellyfish because they come in 3s, and you can only kill 1 at a time.
- Cooldowns. Oh. My. God. On top of being expensive as all hell (even with 90+ max mana), I have to wait to be super-effective? In stages where at most 2 elements are useful?
Ignoring anything about porn, this game's balance is a mess.
The battles are frankly disgusting. Enemies are meant to damage the character, not the player's spirit.
I swear to god, I will actually donate if you fix this, please.
