Yo you gotta learn how to get source control up and running! I have lost entire projects to this. I took a course on Udemy to learn GitHub and Sourcetree. Hint: The GitHub for Unity plugin sucks really hard BUT if you import it into your project and then delete it, it will automatically set up Git LFS for you ;)
I started in April 2022 but I'm pursuing this as a career
I've used that exact YT video for leaderboards on 3 different projects now hahaha it really is overkill for most of these small projects but it seems to work for the most part
What was your solution? Did you use a YT tut or anything? I'm very interested because every time I need a leaderboard I end up using LootLocker but it's way overboard for the games I'm making and I'm not really learning about how a leaderboard is implemented by using their system. I'd be very interested is hearing about your process.
I downloaded since it wouldn't play the WebGL version. I think you came up with a really cool and creative concept. I also loved the use of art assets and the 3D hexagon tiles were really cool visually!
I have some notes. On a PC build, you need to include an escape key so players can quit the game. You can use Application.Quit() and it's really simple to implement. I didn't get any audio coming through when I played so not sure if you ran out of time or the audio just didn't work (it happens). I had fun playing but I had no idea if I ever actually found any crystals or not hahaha
Kudos to you for finishing a game though! And the random generation of hex tiles had to have taken some work because that system worked very well and it made the game more enticing when a random little hex island would pop up all by itself. I just had to go explore the area when that happened! Good work :)
Hey this is in my top 5 for the jam now :) Great game! I really enjoyed having to strategize between upgrading my existing turrets or buying new ones. Made it to like level 11 or something.
Improvement idea: The lasers feel a little underpowered considering how expensive they are. But you did warn us that balancing was something you had to cram in at the end so I get it! We all have to make sacrifices to submit our games on time ;)
This is one of my favorites from the jam so far. I really enjoyed playing and it's soooooooooo addictive. The random nature of it led to some very interesting situations. The game is so simple and yet so engaging. Also dig the robot voice :) Idea for improvement: LEADERBOARD
Overall just a great game =D Really good job on this
Lots of fun. Super fast paced. Would have LOVED to see a leaderboard so we could compete against each other. I never earned any special powers like the instructions hinted at so I'm not sure what I missed or was supposed to collect along the way. I made it to just over 5800 and had a blast!
OH! And I love that the ninja is a 2D sprite rotating in 3D space. That was awesome :)
That was pretty fun! Also the snake is just adorable. This took a little bit of thought to get through and I really enjoyed playing. Definitely a good candidate for a casual puzzle game if you add more levels later. When I started getting close to completing the loop, my snake went HAYWIRE! It was really funny haha didn't cause me any issues though. Great work!
So instead of infinite loop it's infinite poop XD I like it! It was fun for a little while. I started seeing how many poops I could clean at once. 7 is my record. I'm fairly confident my timer was never going to hit 0 so I did end up quitting the game myself after about 5 minutes. Great game! Hilarious concept!
