Even if yours is a lot less complete I still really like the concept and the potential it shows! I'll be keeping an eye on it in the future, and also hope to see you in the next Mystery game jam!
Thanks!

Thank you so much for playing it and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah I'm not surprised there are a couple of plot-holes. I had a general outline but there was a decent chunk of the story that I had to figure out as I was going along, and considering how I didn't have time to revise the script this is basically a rough first draft.
There's so many things I wanted to expand upon or explain more but those can wait for a future version I suppose. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story and the plot-twist regardless! Getting it done in a month was super satisfying, and seeing what amazing things everyone else has made within the same time, including your own game, has super inspired me to keep improving.
Thank you!
I get you, I almost didn't upload myself, and my game is full of missing assets and a million typos and errors. At the end of the day though I'm proud I managed to get something made at all and you should feel the same!
Ah I see, it's weird that he just stays around randomly. But yeah it is pretty funny that Sonny basically helped me prove his own innocence.
I can relate to the time restraint too; there were tons of mechanics I wanted to implement for my game but just didn't have time.
Good job overall and good luck on your future projects!
This was cool!
The concept reminds me a lot of Zero escape and I like the cast of characters and their designs so far.
I like the gameplay with searching, checking your notes and being able to talk to people, and I really enjoyed the deduction segments. I really started to get into the story and I'm looking forward to seeing how it can be expanded upon in the future.
Good job!
This was really cute!
The character designs and surprisingly the world-building are very unique and interesting. I love the idea of civilisations being born from different plants and this is a world I would love to see more of.
I also love the different game mechanics; getting investigations, comparing notes, and a battle system all in the game within a month is really impressive.
A couple critiques I had:
-- It would be nice if points of interest during investigation sections could glow to indicate what was clickable. I never had a huge problem finding what to investigate but I did have to just click around a couple times.
-- I had a really hard time figuring out how to beat the 'butterfly' battle and actually had to watch a video to figure out how to do it after failing several times. That may have just been me though.
None of these majorly impacted my experience though and I did majorly enjoy the game overall!
Great job!
Absolutely loved this one! I have a bit of an obsession with time loops and loved the point-and-click gameplay of gathering more information each loop within a limited number of actions (I was going to implement a similar idea in my own game but ran out of time).
I really like having to prove people's innocence or guilt with certain objects, and the hint system was really appreciated for minimising frustration.
I've replayed this game several times now and it's quite addicting trying to 'maximise runs' so-to-speak and getting things done within my limited number of actions.
The one thing I can think of to improve is maybe making the culprit random each time which would increase replayability and I think make it more fun to try and expose the culprit and exercise them in the same loop. Maybe that is already a feature but for the multiple times I reset the game it was the same culprit.
Regardless I really enjoyed this game! You did a great job within just one month and this is now one of my favourites within the jam.
Great job and thanks for making this!
I'm extremely new to Renpy so seeing a fully playable system where you can move around and talk to other characters is kind of mind-blowing to me, and I'm excited to see what else will be in the full release.
I'm also a sucker for 'death game' concepts like Danganronpa and Zero escape so this was right up my alley.
Thanks for making this!
This was enjoyable! I like the concept of solving a murder before the train arrives and I think that fits pretty well with the jam's theme.
I will say it's a bit awkward to have Sonny's character still follow you around for the entire game even when you're supposed to be split up, but that didn't affect my actual enjoyment of the game and I assume it was due to time constraints.
I really liked the mechanic of collecting and comparing evidence. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff and I was able to get the True ending first time which felt pretty satisfying.
My only 'criticism' is that it was pretty short, but I imagine that's also due to the time constraints and means that I was enjoying it enough to want more, so overall great job!
Thank you for making it.
Thank you so much for playing the game and giving my writing a shot!
I've been going through the script myself since publishing and I agree with what you said about repetition. The in media res opening being repeated basically verbatim every single time is quite jarring and doesn't flow properly with any of the additional text.
I'll fully admit that I basically just copied and pasted those segments as a time-saving measure, which goes for some other scenes in the game as well; it was a decision made more out of desperation rather than a creative one. That's definitely something I'll be improving upon in future drafts, and thank you for drawing my attention to it!
Yes the semicolons are also something I went a bit too trigger-happy with in hindsight, I think something about me just gets a kick out using them haha. I don't think I noticed it in the moment, but going over the script again I absolutely could have used some commas instead or just broke stuff up into separate sentences.
Thank you for being so honest and sharing your criticisms with me. I'm self-taught on both the writing and the programming aspect, and since this was my first real project I highly value any feedback that can help me improve, especially from another writer!
I'll be looking forward to your team's future projects as well and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Miracle heart's eventual full release!
Thank you!
This was super impressive! Having so many characters with all these little details to them made the whole thing feel really fleshed out, especially with having to cross-reference all the different sources of information. It did feel a bit intimidating at first though considering how many victims there were, sort of a "where do I even start?" mentality, but the whole game is a great achievement, especially in just one month!
Thank you so much! I was a bit nervous about what reception would be like because the game isn't very polished, so I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed it despite its flaws!
I think I know what those bugs are you're talking about; it's an easy fix but another thing I wasn't able to get to due to time. I'll definitely be sure to fix them in the future.
Thank you for your comment!
Really enjoyed this one! The characters are very charming and a lot of the dialogue and jokes made me laugh. I liked the plot as it went along and the developments were quite interesting, and the presentation as a whole felt very professional! You know it's good when the only complaint I have is wishing it was longer; can't wait for the full version!
Really engaging experience! First of all, love the presentation; the characters, the unique art style and the backgrounds, it all blends together really well. The characters are super charming and their interactions were fun and enjoyable throughout.
The 'mystery' part of it feels like it takes a little while to get going, but once it did I was definitely invested. It's a great game for only being done in a month! And I'm now looking forward to the final release!
