Thanks for playing! Here are the Garage Band files for the sound & music in case you'd like to take a look at how they were made—the creature moving sound is "step-and-eat":

Thanks so much for playing! Yeah I definitely whiffed on the horror aspect... 'twas meant to be a flip where the Pac dudes chase the ghost. Unfortunately it got lost in the top-down camera view! It was at an angle earlier but the controls felt off.. in any case, I'll probably revisit this concept at some point, so thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for playing! I think the highest possible score is 206, but TBH I'm not really sure and maybe it's higher! (it's just the highest score I've been able to get). There are definitely some levels that could have had more interesting challenges, but so it goes...
I was definitely inspired by the GMTK "super mario's invisible difficulty settings" video to try to make varied levels of challenge that players can select for themselves:
Thanks for playing! Yay loop drawing games!
I definitely should have spent more time on puzzle design... my hope was that there would be some more straightforward solutions with 2-wide rectangles, but then a deeper challenge to find the optimal placement for maximizing area-enclosing loops for score.
Maybe I'll revisit it to improve the scoring!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, some of the level designs could have been a bit better... I put them together at the last minute and wish I spent just a bit more time on them. Actually I forgot how to solve a few and in the interest of making the game possible I quickly changed their designs, but in the process forgot to check that it was possible to score points!
In any case, I think the max possible score is 206 pts but maybe it's more then that. I know for two levels it isn't possible to get points but for the others it is.
Very impressive, great work! It felt very complete and I enjoyed the overall game loop. However, I wish you could always look in any direction (even if it meant pausing a repair, limiting cannon direction, etc.) since at times it was hard to maintain spatial awareness. Often when my ship broke, it was because I didn't see the obstacle or enemy ship until it was too late to take full countermeasures. In any case, awesome game!
