The game is functional and I do find it oddly satisfying to stock shelves. That being said the game really lacks variety and any sort of story outside of the opening and closing 15-20 seconds. It really is just stock a shelf, get a quick jumpscare, stand still to bring the heart attack meter down and repeat. If the heart attack meter posed an actual threat or there was more variety to the types of scares/tasks you had to perform this would be a lot better.

I like the idea of the game and the setting. I just think it could use a bit of a difficulty spike because keeping away from the threat is almost too easy. A bit less stamina for the player or maybe a slightly higher speed to the stalker would keep things feeling a bit more tense. Outside of that, this was a fairly basic and well made experience. I enjoyed it for what it is.

Super fun. Just enough lore to be interesting, a good buildup to the horror bits and everything was laid out well. I never felt super lost and was able to progress at a nice pace. Very well done!

Cool game. I wish I could have made the dialogue a bit louder and the forest section I feel needed a bit more direction. Outside of that, I loved the concept at play here. I'd be totally down to play an expanded version of this.

Awesome little narrative. I went in with very few expectations and was treated to a fairly fleshed out narrative, things to discover to enhance the story and a well paced adventure that builds things up just right. I also appreciate being able to disable video filters and head bob so much! Awesome title.

I could not find one of the endings to save my life though and I think the speed of the car at the start should be adjusted because in my last run I was able to beat the car to the house  and it's a bit immersion breaking when you realize it effects nothing.

What a cool fever dream of a horror game. No jumpscares, just an unsettling atmosphere. Love seeing that. No complaints at all. I had a great time.

For what it is, this is a pretty cool little title that feels more like a teaser than anything (which makes sense due to the whole game jam aspect). A lot got established in very little time. My only criticisms are that the controls felt a bit sluggish and awkward, it was odd seeing 4K/FHD markings on the camera in a spaceship in 1965 and I wish we had another 15-20 seconds for the ending sequence because it ends right as things were starting to get a bit juicy.

I think each individual segment of the game was fine. No complaints. It looked good, everything functioned, there was some nice tension at times. I just don't understand a single thing that happened in the plot.

Another Niven Banger. This one could use some tweaks here and there but for the most part, it's a fun Niven-Experience!

Game doesn't lock the mouse to the monitor. I've tried every possible fix you can think of when this springs up but simply moving my camera around has the cursor go over to my other monitors leaving me to click off the game at every interaction. I'd love for this to be fixed because the game looks great.

What a great idea! Reminded me of playing something like Portal but with an old Motorola Razr. I feel like this concept could be expanded into a full title. I was incredible impressed with this all around. Also the goose honk was 10/10.

This game has a TON of great things going for it. between a great implementation of the fixed camera perspective, the ability to go first person at the press of a button and fmvs that feel they are straight out of a 90's horror like D or enemy zero! So much to love here. I was in absolute awe at points. I loved so much about the presentation.

I do have some criticisms as well. first, the text is borderline impossible to read due to the filter. the lore towards the end was illegible in areas. i found a bug that made me fall off the map (entering the room the masked man came out of for the sewer chase sequence) and i don't even know if I completed the game tbh, the game force closed and i ran out of places to go (if that wasn't the end, a checkpoint is sorely needed or at least the ability to skip cutscenes).

Awesome! I'll try to look at the game again at some point in the near future. :)

I like the concept and bits of pieces of the game but I wasn't able to finish it unfortunately. I'd love to try it again in the future if you continue to work on it. There is a nice creepy atmosphere to everything overall. However, I ran into multiple bugs (all in the video, but I'll list them below in case you want to look into them), got so confused by one section I thought I was bugged and the VHS filter was so intense it was giving a headache. I think with some work there is a great little title here and I hope to see it get to that point. I'd love to finish this sometime.

-Re-entering the boat house after giving the mask forces you to pick up a second mask, entering a building with the extra mask crashes the game

-Able to walk off the edge of the map during the blood ocean section outside

-Alt-Tabbing out of the game breaks the mouse. The camera can only turn when holding M1 after tabbing back in.

Excellent Pooping Simulator. Lack of toilet paper by the toilet does leave me concerned for my immediate future though.

Fun title! Love horror concepts that involve towns that are just a bit off. I think this one did a fairly good job. The atmosphere was built up nicely, the creep factor is well done especially towards the end and the little bit of plot there is definitely works. I don't have many complaints. I found a floating crowbar on day 1, question why my freshly moved in house is so dirty and am not a fan of the screen fades every time I do something like stand up. Basically all very minor complaints/observations.

Pretty cool little game. It reminded me a bit of some old monster hunting games on Steam from years ago called Big Foot and Rake. It was fun exploring the camp grounds, finding camera spots and figuring out what was going on. I just wish there was some more lore to tie everything together. Not bad at all.

I see some promise with the opening minute and the final act. It's just that the middle of the game needs something to really tie it all together. Definitely not a bad attempt by any means and there is some good to be found here.

I also experienced some bugs in the game. I found a lack of collision in a few areas and some events triggered at the wrong time (upon a game relaunch after I recorded I saw that I got a scene way too early).

Enjoyed this one a lot. I'm a sucker for fixed camera angle horror. The ambient noises were creepy, the wandering until finally finding what I was looking for was effective. The one major scare/tense scene was great. I have no idea what happened at all. It felt like a fever dream going through this, but I loved it.

Puzzles that were here were intuitive. Appreciated a flashlight that actually worked and wasn't just a big bright circle. I'd say the final action of the demo needs to be looked at (I thought I got soft locked twice). There is some promise here.

A pleasure as always Niven! I feel like this is probably the most easily expandable game you've made yet if you ever wanted to dive into it again. Really liking the environment and potential all around.

Super interesting game! Got a bit of a War of the Worlds meets ET vibe, but a more peaceful one. Loved finding all the lore, I thought it was especially well done for a jam title!

Only complaints would be that it just felt a bit too dark at times and the sequences seemed to break a bit/fall out of order when doing a second playthrough.

Not bad at all! The world definitely felt a bit off, but in a good and creepy way. Gameplay loop was definitely serviceable and I came to a slow realization towards the end that was awesome to piece together. My only criticism would be that the scares themselves really didn't have enough of a punch to them. They worked and did the job, but I feel like they could have hit a bit harder.

Absolutely LOVED this. The narration was so well done, the pacing felt perfect and the final moments were definitely tense. I'm not sure if it was supposed to end how it did for me, but I'm really glad it ended the way it did. If I had to nitpick ANYTHING it would be that the scale of objects felt off. The stairs/boxes in the house all seemed to be half my height and that was a bit strange.

I'd LOVE to see more games like this. A real gem here on Itch.

Such a strange experience. The first game was odd, this one upped that strangeness tenfold. I'm glad I played it but I also have no idea what I did play.

Also found a bug, I was able to get stuck in the area where the grey key was.

Not bad. I enjoyed the story as it unfolded. I think doing little adjustments to the room depending on your answers would make this a lot more compelling (like if I answered "Yes" to I Like Cats then a cat poster would pop up). Small things like that would make the game feel like the choices mattered a bit more.

What an absolute gem of a game here. Usually I have lots of feedback to give with things to improve upon, but outside of the mouse sensitivity being way too high even on the lowest setting, I got nothing.

Well designed building, great use of the VHS effect, the swapping between the real world and TV was incredibly well done, the main puzzle was very creative and fun to figure out. This is about as good as you could hope for any 10 minute long horror game to be on this site. What a great concept.

Enjoyed this a ton! Taking a 90's style MMO/Chat, giving it a fishing concept and throwing some horror in ended up working way better then I thought it would. It was fun seeing how things ramped up. If I had to be critical I'd say the fog was a bit too intense, I like that it's there aesthetically but seeing a bit further would have made things much more enjoyable IMO. I also think the story was a bit slow in the first 70% of the game and once things started to get going, it went almost too fast.

Overall, this was an excellent title. A few small tweaks would make it an absolute must play on Itch.

Very promising start overall.

I like the variety of environments, the introduction, fair checkpoints, clarity of where to go without being too in your face and there is a decent bit of creep factor in some areas.

My suggestions would be to make some areas feel a bit more natural (the opening apartment for instance is huge and just doesn't feel quite right), bridge the gap between scenes a bit better (the transition from Chapter 2 to 3 was jarring. What brought me to the next area?) and clean up the AI a bit (You can't really hide and enemies can get stuck on objects).

Excited to dive back into this again as more gets added!

Not a bad little game. Honestly, fairly effective for a 2 minute long title. I would have loved a bit more buildup and maybe a text file or two to pickup to get more insight on the lab. For what this is though, I liked it.

Very strange final act in this one that leaves me with more questions than anything. Production value in this is overall quite a bit higher than the standard Itch horror game so good job with this.

Biggest question though, is the game "The Haunted Jorney Home" or "The Haunted Journey Home". The title screen says one thing and the page here says something else.

Definitely a strange little game. Not really sure what happened at all, but I did enjoy the anticipation of seeing what random thing would come on screen next.

Cool little game! I do wish a few more things happened in the background and that there was a 2nd ending for maybe ignoring the whole stamp thing but it is a game jam title and only so much can be done. No real complaints here. Nice concept, good overall execution. Well worth the play.

I found this pretty amusing. It has a certain charm to everything in a very odd way. There is one nasty bug involving the staircase though that made me restart the game twice. My video shows both times, but it looks like if dialogue starts or finishes while on the stairs you can get stuck for some reason. I'd also suggest finding a way to make time between objectives flow a bit better. Waiting for a text message or for the game to say "I should do this" for 30 seconds feels pretty bad and leaves nothing for the player to do for small stretches of time.

Overall, I had a fun little time with this. It was a bit strange in presentation but that made it stand out quite a bit.

I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't this. Genuinely had a great laugh with this. I don't know if that was the intention or not, but I loved this. Everything was just so weird and bizarre. Only criticisms I have are a few typos/grammatical errors and the ending definitely popped a bit too early.

I enjoyed this one a fair bit! Nothing ground breaking, but the 4 endings I found were fun to get. I appreciated the randomness with one of them. Another was super unexpected as well. Decent little title!

Cozy little older Inn. Distinct lack of decor outside of a few pieces on the walls. Shared bathroom could use work. Front Desk associate was very helpful, although seemed to be stressed and not used to working with customers. Cleaning staff was fantastic and always on top of things. Chef in the kitchen provided excellent meals, way beyond what you'd expect for an establishment of this caliber. While my room could have been a bit better, for the price you can't beat it. Overall ***

LOVED THIS! Captures the look of Mario Kart 64 so well. How things unfold was done in such a smart way. It really rewarded me when I tried to figure out how to progress. Confusion really set in, but the little subtle clues on where to go were done very well. Awesome game!

Another banger as always Niven. I think I cracked the code with the plot to the game as well. I had a good time. Looking forward to the next title as always.
