Glad you liked the art, movement and the mechanics! The player character took the most effort and time since I wanted to implement nice animations and precise platform controls, with jump buffers and coyote times and what not馃槄 ! I thought of implementing a pause screen and exit function, however I figured the game is very short and there is no save progress, so players can simply Alt+F4 and hence did not implement these (if you reach the final checkpoint though, there is an exit button on screen). I actually want to keep developing this into a climbing platformer game, however I'm a bit confused if I should go down the path of traditional platformer or a rage climb game. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I wanted the game to be challenging since the game is very short, and I thought 10 seconds is short enough time to make players wait until they are recalled to last visited checkpoint. And if the player falls into a previous checkpoint they would have to start again, this was intentional, although I could have communicated this and the difficulty to the players better馃槄. Glad you found the music and art to be nice, music is a very short loop I came up with, I would have to make a full track.

Thanks! I will!

Yeah I realised that it may be too hard for people if they don't play a lot of platforming games馃槄! Please let me know if you think this may be a good concept for a rage climbing game, I am thinking to commit making a full game on this concept.

Hard game. You can get stuck a lot of times between enemies, and you cannot do anything about it. Also unskippable credits right after death is very annoying, a retry option should be better and credits should be reserved when game beaten. Otherwise the gameplay was actually fun except for the things I mentioned.

Creative Idea definitely. Liked the artwork. The gameplay was not my taste though. But It definitely gets high high creativity rating from me.

I managed to complete all the levels! Loved it! It is a bit challenging. Especially the handling the pillars. And sometimes items can get stuck to the cursor. One time a prop flung away behind the curtain and I was not able to access it until level reset. But I was able to clear them all finally!

I was able to win in one try!

Genuinely quite fun. Didn't understand what to do right away but once I got to the hang of it I loved it. It can be sort of a party game if you built on top of. I know I would have put hours on this game if this was released in the flash games era馃槀

Thanks a lot!

Yeah that song is pretty neat! Thanks for checking out my game :)

Thank you!

Thanks for your kind words! Glad you liked the atmosphere, it was my main goal to create an artistic stylised look. I would have loved to add some puzzles and harder platforming too but didn't had time. Maybe I'll update this in future. Thanks for playing!

Nice writing and kudos to the art, is it hand drawn?! Looks pretty! It is the first visual novel I came across this jam.

Yeah your right, I would have definitely expanded it more if I had more time. Sadly time didn't allow me. Thanks for checking out!

Wow you made an online scorekeeping system?! That's cool. It's my first game played in this jam to have something like this. Very well done. However the combat sword hitbox NEED to be bigger, its too small. Nice submission! I would love to hear your opinion on my submission as well :)

Genuinely one of the best games I played of this jam! The artstyle so simple yet so beautiful and harmonize very well. The puzzles are intriguing (I had to look at the hints lol!), animations are good, everything just feels right, complete and polished. Great job! I would love to hear your thoughts on my submission too! :)

Very creative gameplay loop here. However sometimes it was hard to know when the character can move towards outside the map to be looped the other side, since the paths are a bit hard to see. But definitely liked the game loop. The bgm suits well. Nice effort! I would love to know your thoughts on my game as well :)

Ohh too bad! I would try to upload web builds too from now on. Glad you took your time to take a look anyways!

Thanks for your kind words! The game is up to player's interpretation, you can believe the metaphor as whatever you feel like. Maybe its about depression, maybe about escaping mundane reality, or maybe its a dream world, who knows!

Absolutely loved the gameplay! Although would've preferred to have an option to use arrow keys, since I am used to playing racing games with arrow keys. The menu screen was very beautiful, with the windows showing different parts of the track. And the controlling of the car was great as well, one of the best car control feel of the games I played in the jam. Overall very nice great job guys! I would love your opinion on my submission as well! :)

Oh yeah I definitely had a laugh, the gym sequence was so quirky lol!

Nice to see a project made with a custom engine. Even the thought of making a custom engine scares me lol, putting so much effort when I have to work on other aspects of the game too. So congrats and great job! I would like to hear your opinion on my submission as well :)

This felt very strange, maybe because I don't play games like this. I think it would benefit if you polish the game after the jam. Nice for a jam submission!

You got a nice gameplay idea! Some bgm would improve it so much. Still the core gameplay is fun, you should definitely work on this a bit more after the jam, I think it can turn into a fun project I would love to try a polished version. I would like to know your opinion on my submission as well :)

Thank you and glad you liked it! I will definitely check your game too ;)

This was so cute! The "pew" sound got me each time lol! It was fun and although I generally like some better art, here it fit so well with the vibes. Great job guys! I would love to hear your thoughts on my submission as well :)

Yeah I agree with you 100%. I originally wanted to have puzzle platforming gameplay, but the art and vibes was more important for me so I worked on that first. I am a solo dev and the art is all custom for each scene, no tilesets for quick level development. Hence I had to sacrifice the platforming part, sadly. But at least I got the vibes like I wanted lol!

Such a fun puzzle game! When I saw the artstyle I did not know what to expect from it, but playing it is so fun! Such simple graphics but the gameplay loop is very good.  Nice job! I would love to hear your opinion on my submission as well :)

Nice idea for a game jam! I would like to give some suggestions, you guys have created an isometric view style, so do not let the camera be able to get rotated by player, just let the camera static which moves with the player itself, this is how isometric is done, else it feels very jarring. Otherwise it was a nice experience! I would like to hear your opinion on my submission as well :)

Fun little short game, I love PICO-8 games! The gameplay is very good, the puzzles are interesting and made me think for some time, however it was quick to finish and I really wanted to play more of this. You should definitely think of continuing this project after the jam, I think this has such potential. Great job! I would love to hear your opinion on my submission as well! :)

Genuinely my favorite out of all the games I tried in this jam! Looks very polished, the artstyle is so good, and the gameplay loop is great as well. This makes me want to try future jams with teams too, since I solo dev and would never be able to come up with something like this alone. For some reason audio was not working in browser for me, but I liked the visuals so much I kept playing anyways. Great job guys! I would love to hear your thoughts on my submission as well! :)

Yeah was trying to go with some creepy dreamy vibes lol!

The artstyle looks to have potential if worked upon more, some bgm would have improved the atmostphere too. The game was playing on a bit low fps for some reason. But I did liked your vision here what were you trying to achive. Great effort!

Very interesting take on the past player ghost formula. Although I struggled a bit at first on what to do, but it maybe just because I'm not super good with this type of games. But I loved the idea and its execution! I would like to hear your opinion on my submission as well :)

Yeah it is definitely hard to do everything in such a short time, completely understandable. You have come up with very a creative gameplay loop anyways and its very good for a game jam. Kudos!

Yes I am using some post processing filters such as film grain, gaussian blur and some other stuff to achieve this look. Glad that you liked it!

Yes that was the goal;  to give it a creepy, very old cinematic film cartoonish vibe, glad to know it worked out like that! Thanks for giving my submission a try!

The artstyle is definitely very unique. However I was completely lost on what to do, controlling the character was not intuitive for me. But it looks very cool, the characters as graphics!

Thanks for checking out this submission! Glad you liked the art style. Yes the camera work needs a bit of polish when player jumps higher than the screen size, however this sudden camera motion only happens at 2 places in the game and after the sudden jump camera should work good. This was something I saw during development too but had no time to make the camera follow smoothly. I will try to patch this after the jam.
