Awesome tool for that ps1 look

Yes! GDquest was a huge help in the beginning!

Fun little game that does  a good job to set an atmosphere.

the levels are a bit hard to read at times, i'd suggest giving the enemy some sort of glow, just a little something to set them apart.

Also what does the fear bar do? i went through the levels with some haste and after finishing the game i have no idea what it impacted apart from the spooky hands??

This started as a learning project but it got polished enough that i decided to upload it on itch.io

My game is called Singularity Break. It's a rogue-lite blockbreaker game with 5 infinite difficulty levels, going from Easy to WTF. Upgrade or buy new planets to do better on the next run.

If anyone wants to play it and give some feedback that would be much appreciated! I am very much a beginner so i am open to any feedback on what areas to improve!

A couple months ago i lost my job so i found myself with plenty of time on my hands.

Perfect time to try and develop a new skill right? I started with the 20 games challenge as i had 0 experience in making games but thankfully i spent the last year and a half on studying python and a bit of c++ on the side so i didn't go in fully blind. Spent a day or two making the worst Jetpack Joyride clone ever, but since i didn't know the engine i was working of tutorials and it was more frustrating than anything else.

I started to dig into the documentation and get more familiar with the engine. After a couple days i decided to make a pong clone. i had a working protype done in an afternoon which 2 players could play on the same keyboard. Logically this led to me building a breakout clone which then led to game i have now. A blockbreaker rogue-lite with 5 infinite levels and over a dozen upgradeable projectiles.

It is just simple arcade game which i bet there are many versions of but it's mine and i am proud of it!
