I've mostly been working on more backend systems and stuff, but I've been doing a few new UI tests too, like this barter system. There's no concept of money in the game, only items, so the way you trade with others is by offering and requesting sets of items. All items have a base "value" (hidden from the player), and this value is modified by how much a particular NPC likes that item (based on a couple of factors) to determine how much it weighs on the scale. NPCs will accept any trade that is balanced/fair. Almost at the point now where I have enough systems in place that I can start roughing in some content! :)
