Oh this is going to get me shouted at because I'm not sure I have the right words to express myself properly.

On Earth, strictly genetically speaking, there are 2 sexes for the human race. An individuals upbringing, biology or potentially personal preference may lead them to believe, rightly or wrongly, that they were born the wrong sex. Nothing wrong with that, as long as it causes no-one harm let people be who they want to be.

There are cases of humans being born with both sets of genitalia, a "Hermaphrodite" in these cases one of the sets of reproductive organs tends to be non-functional for reproductive purposes, in some very rare instances a "true Hermaphrodite" can be born where both sets of genitalia function. In both of these instances though there tends to be a pre-disposition to lean towards either female or male sexual roles.

But we're talking about a Fictional Alien here, our biology doesn't apply. So shut up and let the man write his story. Dick.

but 'male' and 'female' is a term that is not restricted to the human species, its not even restricted to the animal genus, it is a universal term in and of itself that refers to the process of sexual reproduction, regardless of the type of life involved.
he has not invented some fictional 3rd alien sex, something which fits into the established order, for example there may have only been "car" sex and "parking bay" sex, and he could have invented, say a "cars bay loader" sex. he didn't do that. he just did the same old delusional thing - calling one sex by the other sexes name. he's calling the parking bays, cars. and while there is something wrong with that, very very grammatically wrong, it wouldn't matter if he kept that aberration in his own mind, but instead he is now trying to communicate to others with his nonsensical language that is clearly not English, Italian Polish or Russian, as advertised in the games description.

I mean….you're wrong about it being a “universal term in and of itself” as there are species that don’t have a male and female pair, as an example the Amazon Molly reproduces entirely asexually as do over 2000 other species on earth. You’re right up to a point though, he didn’t invent a sex, he invented a species, an entire alien genome untied to our biological rules. Let me ask you straight though, what sex is Ziv?

Asexual species consist entirely of females.

and the fictional genome is not at all alien - we are able to reproduce with them, therefore they are a breed (aka:race) of human.
as for the asinine Ziv question, your on the spot fallacy is invalid, as that is undeterminable from the fictional information given..
it would seem he was born male and has become transgendered (transsexual is impossible, regardless of how many surgeries you have or drugs you take), but he might have been born with a disease, like an intersex disorder or an endocrine disorder. in any case, Ziv is a male - you cant grow a penis without a Y chromosome.

“Ignorant claptrap” eh? Only asexual species that reproduce via parthenogenesis are female. All the others are sexless, admittedly I’m mostly talking about amoeba rather than “intelligent” life. Let’s take a step back and look at a long running sci-fi institution for a second. Star Trek. Deanna Troi is half human, her mother was fully betazoid, not human, yet she successfully carried a baby to term. Gul Dukat had a daughter with a Bajoran making her half Cardassian and half Bajoran, these species are from different star systems, as are our MC and Ziv. Following a similar evolutionary path doesn’t make you human, although for purposes of storytelling and ease of production in tv and movies, it does tend to make you humanoid. Regarding Ziv, I believe we’ve been told that her entire species has both sets of genitalia, and although I agree we don’t have the entire history of that race open to us, but you can’t tar them with our brush given the information we have had. We need a Y, it doesn’t mean they do. Or that their chromosomes come in pairs. Or that they only have 46 sets. They’re an alien species, not human.

you see, the thing you seem to be missing here is that #WordsHaveMeanings, and you're not following them. the betazoid are obviously a breed of human, as the species are primarily DEFINED by the ability to interbreed. once you can no longer interbreed, you are no longer the same species, and get re-categorized (assuming you subscribe to the darwinian model as most intelligent ppl do). the fact that they are only distinguishable from our race is the black eyes and telepathy. not a very good example there chum.
just because yr from a different star system, doesn't mean you're not from the same species, we have actual historical examples of migration right here on earth, just look at black people vs white people.. you might not have guessed it, but we are the same species, because we can interbreed, the EVOLUTION of our races have no drifted so far apart yet, we are both still breeds of human even 100's of 1000's of years separate us .. the show never even attempted to exclude prior migration between star systems, and in fact, was entirely based upon multiple species travelling between star systems. your absurd argument falls flat again.
"evolutionary path doesn’t make you human" - now you seem to be confused by the two very different words "human" and "humanoid", evolutionary paths absolutely define which species we are..
its obvious you're not very good at language, because you cant even read it properly, let alone be able to select the correct words.. i said *cRaptrap, not claptrap.

as intersex people cannot bear offspring (but can very occasionally fertilise females), and have a Y chromosome (remember, we are discussing intersex genetic disorders, not DSD, which are endocrine-caused deformities), its pretty undeniable that they are male.

Actually I picked the Betazoids for exactly that reason, they were the most humanoid species that came to mind. As I’ve used that word again, it’s my turn for a definition. Because #wordshavemeanings……

So given my use of the word “humanoid” in my previous comment about how aliens appear humanoid in movies and tv shows to make them easier and cheaper to make as it’s simpler to put some makeup on a human than to produce an animated amorphous glob, and from a storytelling point, a female alien that looks like a supermodel makes more sense than to have our hero fall in love with the same formless blob, please explain to me how the usage was incorrect?

I think you’re getting the word species and genome mixed up.

Lions and Tigers are not the same species, but they can interbreed because they are from the same genome. Same with donkeys and horses.

Despite your use of #wordshavemeanings “craptrap” is not a word recognised by any English dictionary, when I say “any” I admit to it being a gross exaggeration, I only checked 10. However me using claptrap was an auto correct issue, which you should be more forgiving of given you make auto correct mistakes too, I just didn’t feel the need to disparage your intelligence over the simple typing mistakes you’ve made.

As #wordshavemeanings, I’ll just quickly point out that you’ve missed the apostrophe in your “it’s” as it’s a contraction of “it is”, ironic in a sentence bemoaning my knowledge of how to use English. You did it in the “you’re” after all.

Finally, as #wordshavemeaning, when an “I” appears on its (note the lack of apostrophe) own it MUST always be capitalised. It’s the first of the 3 rules of capitalization in grammar…

Let’s not do that again, it made me feel dirty stooping to that level and it feels like bullying. Though I’m sure you agree, because of these mistakes I won’t be paying you for any English lessons.

Which brings me to your comment on migration. As a species, we have done amazing and terrible things in our time on this planet. One of them, to the best of my knowledge was not travelling to a different star system so long ago that were became the progenitor of an alien subspecies. I am the second to admit that there is more I don’t know than I do, I say the second because I think you’re probably ahead of me in the queue to call me stupid.

And with all due respect, when using the words “black people” and “white people” inserting the abbreviation of “versus” between perhaps gives the wrong impression of you. Might I suggest the word “and” as a more suitable alternative. Or maybe don’t bring up skin colour at all unless you think what you’re saying through, we’re all Homo sapiens sapiens here, despite what you may think of my level of intelligence.

I think your issue here is that, maybe, you’re attracted to an alien with a penis and you don’t like how it makes you feel. Your brain may be stuck in the part of Ted 2 where Ted finds Johns porn files on his laptop. “There’s no such thing as chicks with dicks, only men with tits”. And on earth that used to be true, but not anymore. Or did you assume my gender?

At no point were we discussing “intersex genetic disorders“ I brought up dual genitalia in humans simply as an example before saying…
