Moriko! Thank you so much for the playthrough and your feedback!
This one actually was supposed to be more of a stealth-action game and the mechanics were the following: you hide until the clowns are not looking and then you hit them.
However, I felt the game was a bit empty and the gameplay was annoying and boring, so I decided to try making a tradtional RPG with classic RPG combat, which is something I've never done before (funny how I've made like 20 games with RPG Maker and none of them were actual RPGs). Then, I loved the idea of creating skills and characters that didn't fit the standards of classic rpg party members so I started creating a bizarre troupé of grotesque but lovely individuals.
Hugo was the first one I created and he actually looked kinda like Mr. Bob with a juggler outfit. But then I thought about giving HIM a ball for a head and I liked him better. Then came Lucy, who was supposed to be a family of balloons fighting together but I opted for the "lonely balloon girl" route.
Amicia was actually the third one I created and she became one of my favorites (and I think it shows as she's the one who gets most dialogue lines and her skills are pretty good, not to mention that she has a lot of different animations).
Mushi was supposed to get his own game but I discarded the project, so this was a good opportunity to use him, since I really like his concept and design and he's my favorite character.
I also had fun creating the enemies. Some are just random premade assets edited and put together, but they kinda work for the context and they're kinda funny (like the Danse Macabrehicule enemy, which is just a skull from a Enemy monster pack combined with a pixel art cart from a pack on Itch).
The final area was supposed to be a homage to the typical areas classic JRPGs,where you have to fight strong bosses in a row and there are strong common enemies that give tons of exp. Giving the final boss so much HP was definitely a mistake but I actually nerfed her and updated the game yesterday. However, having 4 party members definitely makes her easier, so by only having 3 people in your party, you kinda played hard mode hahaha. She's also weak to poison and it causes her tons of damage. So the experience varies for each player.
I had tons of fun making this game, I didn't even get the "final development fatigue phase" this time and I'll probably make either a sequel or another RPG with horror/grotesque elements.
Thanks again Moriko! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
