Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • Simple, but quaint and fun, with some very cool ideas. It ends far too quickly, but what's there is clever enough and engaging enough to make for a very solid proof of concept.

Great! I love the design of escape the darkness and the character is relly cute! :)

Thanks!!
Gotta thank the artists I used the assets of for that ;)

Very cute game! I liked the suspenseful music, but art direction wise it could be more consistent. Very short, but with strong core mechanics. It is a good start for a rage game :)

Developer

Hey! Thanks for the feedback!

For art consistence, are you talking about ui / shadows / character + background?
I thought about changing the ui for the tuto, which I agree is too different and bad for this game,  but didn't have much time
I've mainly used free assets, so I guess that's why it shows so much

Gonna  try making my own next time for the Acerola Jam! (Could end up very badly :') )

Yeah, I think the text does not really fit the environment, also the assets are too different. But it is still a working game, so that is already a big achievment :) Good luck for your future games!

Developer

Thanks!
And yeah, I agree! Definitively gonna look up onto that!

This was really fun! I liked the message of the game, its a really cool thing to put in the game. Had a lot of fun

Developer

Thank you!
I figured my game was missing some kind of deepness without that, compared to other games in the competition, so I thought it would be a good idea, glad you liked it!

Very cool! The character is very cute, and your interpretation of the mechanic is very interesting. I thought that the difficulty was good; some sections took a few tries but I figured it out after I tried a couple different routes. The music works well with the gameplay, too. Good job!

Thanks for the feedback!
Glad you enjoyed! :)

Love the music and player design. The initial difficulty is too high I would say. The darkness moves very fast. I could get past the first darkness sequence but not the second. Nice work overall though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!
And noted! Guess I should try doing more playtest next time, thanks for the feedback :)

Very nice game, I love to choice of music. And the unique way of how the darkness spreads.

Some constructive feedback would be that sometimes it feels a little unfair when you get stuck in a not-so-deep hole with darkness in it. They could be deeper if there is now way of making it out.

Developer

I see what you mean, like there is no way out, but you're forced to just stay here in a weird way, waiting patiently for your death

Noted! Thanks for the feedback!
