enjoyed the game! its cool to have create this in such a short amount of time, cool concept

Submitted

I really enjoyed the concept behind this! Controlling the dragon was a fun challenge. Next time get your voice chat friends to make some simple artwork!

Developer

I did, they failed to find sprites :p

I love the movement it's so goofy!

Submitted

I like the game, but I wish a bit more gameplay and presentation would have been implemented. It was still fun nonetheless!

Developer

could you elaborate on "presentation"?

Submitted(+1)

What I mean is the art and the overall polish (particles, palette, etc) of the game could be better :)

Developer

Hm, I definetly could see myself putting more effort into doing better sprites, but would particles make it better, or is this just an example?

I attempted to stick to 4 colors (Yellow, Blue, Green, Rose for Cockatrice and white for text), slightly modified color of sprites to fit pallete closer, but that's mostly it, in my vision game would be made only of 5 colors, and maybe shades for UI

Yes particles would make it better, specifically dynamic particles or random particles, like angled particles or some that follow the dragon, or that just appear when you do something, it makes the player think he has more control and feels more satisfying. The particles when you do something is also known as player feedback and is one of the three most important things when making a game fun. The others are multiplayer which in this case can't be added since it would be to hard for the jam, and the last one is randomness. If you make a game and it sucks, and you add those three things, or just 2 of them everywhere, I can guarantee you it will be fun. Also the palette in itself is fine but you should stick to 2 colours that are opposite or almost opposite and the shades of those colours, take an example from undertale or hollow knight. Also like you mentioned the art could be better. I recommend looking at some videos from Jonas Tyroller on YouTube, so you can see what I mean by player feedback, his tutorials are amazing. Anyways I hope this helps!

Developer

Funny that you mentioned it, since I watched entire Jonas, multiple times.

I feel like 3 colors is not too much, it's not like I am using 7 random colors, maybe those colors are not complementary (I didn't check), but I like how they look togetger, and I chose other colors to fit those 3 main colors.

I have never worked with particles (I don't think it would be hard), honestly, can't imagine where would they fit, it's not like birds leave trail where they fly, maybe I could add them to coins or cities, but I don't think that would make a big difference, at best I could make something like explosion whenever dragon robs cities.

I couldn't make better art because I completely exhausted my human limit, as I said before, there were many ideas I wanted to implement, many things I wanted to fix, actually, I wanted to enter WeeklyGameJam, but, it does no longer exist, for some reason, I could only do that much in 2 days, and I also felt ill on 3rd day.

Submitted

Yes what I was saying was only feedback to what could be added if you had more time, for example my game has some faults and some color issues too I would have fixed with more time

Really nice submission! The gameplay is essential (in a positive way!), but yet very effective. I think you did a great job in creating something with simple mechanics that is both cohesive and fun. Furthermore, it has a lot of potential for future expansions, if you'd ever want to.
Regarding the gameplay, the dragon is very hard to control, especially as it is a game that requires precise movements in a limited time... But I guess it's the point of the whole thing ^^"

I read in your other comments that the development wasn't easy. Game jams can be pretty though, I know that, but remember that you don''t have to deliver a game at the expenses of your health. It's okay if some (or many!) ideas get discarded in the process, they could always return for the next game jam.
Overall, I think you did a fantastic job for a challenging three-days jam! Congratulations :)

thank you very much for kind words

The gameplay is actually pretty good, I just wish the presentation was up to par.

Developer

There is a lot of work to do, but I quickly burned down on it, many things were not implemented, and I wish I had deticated person to do style, but that's how it goes

I thoroughly enjoyed your game, particularly the unique concept and the dragon's floaty mechanics. After adjusting, collecting coins became thrilling, reminiscent of swerving in a drag race. Mastering this technique was rewarding. Introducing cannons as obstacles to dodge, with the risk of losing coins upon being hit, would add an exciting challenge. Perhaps allowing players to destroy cannons with a left-click fire breath could enhance the gameplay.

Developer

Thank you for feedback a lot.
I had this idea, I had many different ideas, but I burned down on game very quickly

Hey man nice game, but i want to point two things, that amazing european Dragon is not a cockratice and the background of your page make harder to play the game, besides that an enjoyable game.

It's fun :^
