Nice art and atmosphere, but the controls could have some more love. The guy only jumps if you're grounded. Which is really enjoy when you need to jump near the edges of platformers. When jumping, check if the guy was grounded or if he was grounded 0.2 seconds ago. Also he always jumps the same height, it doesn't matter how long you press jump.
