Reading these i notice you emphasize that joel just witnessed the person he loved die. This seems odd to me just because of the varying relationships. Patrice i'm sure says something like 'oh so you're the Joel Ryan's always talking about', that seems to say that Joel and him have never spoken. So they have like 2 conversations before day 3 and suddenly Joels in love with him? I mean it makes sense for someone like Ryan who has previous history but i cant really see it happening for others. Russ and Clyde have like no relationship with him and Joel doesn't seem all that thrilled with Liam either. So jumping to love is quite something.

As for depression, i find people who have never dealt with it have no real grasp on what it is. You see it alot iwth people declaring that they're mental health professionals but they only say 'think happy thoughts', which is the least useful thing to say. It's why where i'm from when people say ''I'm fine'' it means their not fine but they don't want to talk about it. Pushing the issue is very rude.

That's a fair point, not everyone would be considered lover from the get go, but I do think that Joel sees everyone as a friend, that might shift depending on route, but it is still traumatizing to witness death and wanting to prevent this? You'll have to remind me what's the issue aside from me typing lover that I do agree is wrong for most of the cast currently.

I'm not sure what's this about depression though. I... don't feel like I came across that way in Blake's route?

oh no the depression point is in regards to Q65 -

Anyway— going back to Blake.

It might feel sudden, but the signs were there for you to see on D3 when he opens up about Anthony, Day 1 as well. Joel feels something’s wrong with his behavior, but you’re clearly told to mind your own business (politely). Blake’s depression hits me close to my personal experience. You know you’re fucked up and nobody has to know because they wouldn’t understand. They would feel sorry for you(or they would tell you the opposite, how dare you feel that way, just a bunch of excuses.) and your problems would ruin the whole atmosphere.

Blake is functional outside and wants you to think that he’s fine. That’s why there isn’t much setup. I wouldn’t want to tell anybody that I often think of ways to die

- Its more an 'i agree' but from personal experiance its something people have opinions on with no understanding. Like that popular streamer guy asmongold, whenever he talks about depression has strong opinions but also admits he knows nothing and doesn't get it, seemingly thinking its a choice to be miserable.

I understand now, thank you for leaving feedback!
