Maybe a good approach would be to compare the difference in text: If the edit was done quickly and only a few characters are changed then no edit log is made?
I think that would work. On that note, I would love to see a feature where if you delete your own comment (with no replies/or being a reply) that it wouldn't plaster "DELETED POST" on your own pages. Learned that one not too long ago, and it makes the page so ugly :/
