I read at the start of the jam you could create a team, which I have, there's a few of us, however how exactly do I go about that? do we all join the jam? Is there a special way we need to sign up or?

No,just the one who make game need to give credit in game for other teammates and write their roles.

One of you should submit the game to the jam, on the game page there should be a field to add other team mates as contributors.

I checked about "contributors" in another gamejam, but I can't find this. I looked into this on another game I made in "edit project", but also there I can't find a way to add someone else as contributor. Anyone who can explain where to look?

I don't exactly remember but I think it's on the admins page

Go to the edit page of your game. Then click on "More" and then "Admins".

There you can add more people to your game as contributors.

another question about teams, if I make a game, and add someone as team member. does he needs to join this jam as well to be able to rate? will he be able to rate if he joins but doesn't submit a game, or will he be able to do it automatically because he is an admin of my game?

Teammates will be able to rate games if they joined the jam and are added to the admins page
