if you don't interact with the time rock and beat the game, you get the normal ending,
thought the time rock was just a funny useless secret.
thanks for the spoiler, I plazed this manz times back in the days and always thought I jsut was too slow or soemtimes fast enough in beating the game.Never considered that visiting the time rock might be the actual trigger :-)
