Good story, good concept and solid characters. The humor didn't hit with me specifically, but I don't think that's a mark against the story, just my personal preferences. I did find the fonts to be creative, but ultimately distracting for me. Based on the other comments, I'm chalking that up to my preferences as well. All in all a job well done as far as I'm concerned. Thumbs up!

thanks! yeah. I'm happy with it as an experiment but in an ideal world I could have used fonts that were a little more legible/similar. I was kind of limited to whatever I could find in the google font options since I didn't think until just now that I could have easily set this up in indesign. whoops!

Definitely a swing taken differently from most stories.
It got perhaps a bit too comical in the middle portion for my tastes, but that’s just me.

From ShadowAmazing goblin names, I am going to steal them for a dnd game (the highest honor I can give). Changing the fonts was a decent work around for your word count but it made reading it much more taxing. Also, the gag about the demon's balls getting bashed in by goblins was funny, but felt very... out of place. (That could also just be my sense of humor, so y'know) I very much like this Battle Brother seeing a gang of goblins and just going "yeah I'll adopt them." I am now imagining a set of goblin squires for a unit of Battle Brothers, and that's always a good thing.

I knew a lot of people wouldn't catch it unless they read the description for them but he's actually an Eternal Warden, so those goblins are in for a big surprise when they find out what being honored at the temple means. (they're getting sacrificed to power their warden god) I like the idea that wardens don't think of this as a bad thing and don't understand it when the champions they bring home get upset.
Also goblins have an entire school of martial arts called boing-loing-kata that focuses on disabling opponents by targeting lower weak spots. It's one of the few combat disciplines that can hold their attention.
While I don't know if changing the fonts on the template is "allowed", I don't really care. The fonts helped sell this tale for me, esp having just started reading these stories aloud like an audio book and assigning voices before I know who the speakers even are. I thought they were Ogres at first, so they got Patrick Star voices like off Spongebob Squarepants, and the demon became Invader Zim. So thanks for that. The story was the second in a row that I read this way, and I think it beat the previous one for audio book nomination in my head. Rated highly! Looking forward to more in the future.
