Hey, I played this back in 0.41 or so and it took me a good while to run through the game. I'm afraid of my saves getting erased with the update. Will they be fine?

Saves originally from 0.35 or earlier may need the "Old Save Compatibility Patch" to fix a plugin that otherwise would cause errors, but saves from 0.41 should be just fine. You could always create a backup of your save, but there's no reason I can think of that would cause any issues using 0.41 saves in 0.45.
