Thank you for the kind words and the helpful feedback !
I was happy about my idea at first, but quickly I came to understand that this i not my type of game (I am more used to making small action-packed arcade game, and this more riddly-puzzly one was complicated) Plus more busy week than anticipated, I burned out a bit, and released the game with a bitter feeling.
I struggle to make things at the same time clear and challenging, I need a bit more experience (or a simpler idea xD).
My goal was to make a simple puzzle game, with a bit of story sprinkled on top of it.
Good idea to make the cat easier to control !
And for the puzzle I tried, but I don't think I can improve it with my skills right now (maybe I'll pick it back up in a few month)
All in all, thank you, and I know what I have to improve !
(maybe a clue system could be a band aid fix)
If you have some time and wish to help improve my puzzle, here is the story :
**warning spoilers**
You are supposed to check the box as a ghost to learn cat possession. Then, you have to check the box as a cat (and let him sleep one nap), to learn that you can open the door, by interacting with it as a ghost.
In case people don't have the idea to explore the box (happened during the one and only playtest I managed to do) I coded a dialogue that pops up once and a while to lure you to the box.
Once the door is open, you can make the bin fall (same way as opening the door) and make a cat go inside (same as the cardboard box), and if you don't know what to do and go back to the box, it will tell you about food in the bin.
Once a cat as entered twice the bin (not slept, just entered), the cat explain how to clear the bushes to the park.
When a cat cross to the park you unlock one of two endings
good ending : a cat has the teddy bear
bad ending : you have to interact with a grave to get the teddy bear
