This is really disappointing because the timing of the announcement makes it sound disingenuous. Delays are part of the development process and nothing people won’t understand. However, waiting for the scheduled release date to announce a WHOLE MONTH’S delay is extremely unprofessional. It is hardly possible that the reason cited for the delay (securing investment to expand the game) is something that the dev discovered just today, on the release date! And a month’s delay is not your standard last minute checks and debug delay- which can’t be more than a few days at best. What this says is that this was a planned delay, and that the dev deliberately kept everyone in the dark until the last minute. We’re all perfectly happy to wait longer and we all understand delays because of other concerns and priorities that might crop up- that’s not remotely the problem. The problem is being honest and transparent about the process. Of course, given how so many other devs just randomly disappear for years without giving any explanation for their unfinished projects, it is still commendable that you told us about this delay. Better late than never, I guess.

Thank you for replying- and I didn’t mean to criticise you but only highlighted how it looks when you post a delay on the scheduled release date. I completely understand that time management and creativity are not always easy to balance. I am also a huge admirer of your work and I have enjoyed your previous games- your work is excellent and speaks for itself! And thank you for saying that you’ll be regular in posting updates on progress- that would help us all understand the process better and make the wait easier! I am perfectly happy to wait for a month, or even longer, for something so amazing to be completed, just as long as you keep us informed :)

I, Unikorn, the one primarily responsible for this, sincerely apologize for the last-minute changes, and I fully understand your frustration and your right to criticize me. As an artist, I'm not adept at time management and processes; I tend to be overly optimistic about my own speed and overly perfectionistic about every little detail of the product. These are some of the factors that led to the delay, which I'm ashamed to admit I didn't address (and the fear of being criticized made me delay the announcement til now T.T), in addition to the recent investment for expanding the game that I mentioned in the previous message. I will do my utmost to avoid any further surprises until the scheduled release date by posting more developer blogs to keep everyone informed about the project's progress and striving for as much transparency as possible. I hope everyone can forgive me and continue to support the project because it's a labor of love for the whole team, and we will make every effort to make this additional month worthwhile. T.T
