Thanks for playing Hikiyami! I agree with your comments. In hindsight, that public domain picture poorly modified with paint was not a bad idea hahahah. I like the idea you mentioned of not showing the entity at all.
Funny that you mention that this could be appropiate for an anthology, because the creepy music in this game (which is actually just some public domain piano sequence I found) was used for The Grotesque and Pixelesque, and this one was published a long time before that one.
This was actually made in about 18 hours and the hardest part was working with a 3 color palette, but overall I'm happy with the result. It's just a little derpy game and the story is quite straightforward, but it was really fun trying to come up with something in such a small amount of time
And speaking of The Grotesque and Pixelesque, I still need to finish Volume 2 (I'll go back to it once I finish A House for Alesa 3, which is going to be my biggest project ever)
