How does your game fit the theme?
It's all about diving with a little sub for garbage in the ocean :)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Wrote all the code as usual. Third party assets owned were used for some things.

Interesting concept of a game. Like in the other comments below, it was a bit hard to control (I understand you did it out of realism, but sometimes you gotta prioritize gameplay over realism), and it was pretty lengthy.

Thanks for checking it out! All feedback is appreciated.

Interesting take ^^ It was very awkward to control the thing tho!

This is a lovely prototype! I think it's totally underrated, there's huge potential in this game - I have some recommendations :D

1) The controls were a little hard to manage (but we already talked about that, certainly didn't affect my rating), so that would need to be polished imo for a seamless experience.

2) The gameplay felt lengthy, even though I could see how much trash I had collected. If you don't mind, I'm going to link you to another game here as an example of voice over narration you can do every time you hit a certain threshold, they did it very well and it's a similar theme: Echoes Vol. 1 by Plume Pond (itch.io) - I think if you included something like this it would be very motivating to play.

3) With that kind of narrative added, you could easily tell an emotional climate change story about pollution, and uncover a mystery halfway through. I was lacking some sort of reward system even though cleaning the ocean felt very therapeutic. I also like that your game keeps it chill and casual, and that I'm not fearing for my life every-time I run into a rock. That's a great part about this game I would definitely keep.

4) The controls being displayed at all times is super helpful in these types of games. Great tutorial in that sense.

5) I think you'd benefit from adding a sort of echo or sonar where you can detect from above where there is trash so you can dive there. I would also include less trash, it seems a bit endless at times.

Graphics and design amazing!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Really appreciated!

Nice submission! The water is so pretty, and the physics, while tough to get the hang of are very robust and nice to see you put a lot of effort into. My biggest issue was that I think collecting the trash takes a little too long, if your bouyancy is even a little too high or low it can stop the collection process which is just frustrating, and the actual pieces of trash are so small I thought they were rocks at first. Still, a nice little submission, well done! A review back would be great!

Thanks for checking it out mate! Will do! Already made a lot of improvements on the controller to make it easier, but spent the first 4 days of the jam trying to get the ocean working in WebGL :)

Neat idea, pretty tough to control tho

Thanks for checking it out! I did want it to be somewhat hard to control, in order to make it realistic, but I agree, probably a bit too much of a steep learning curve for a game jam lol
