This game got unfair pretty quickly. I wasn't able to attack most things until they were attacking me, and I didn't see the controls listed anywhere until the game over screen. The game looks okay, but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing, and it's frustrating when I get swarmed and can't really progress anymore.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback on my game! I apologize for the frustrating experience you had. I understand that the game quickly became unfair, and I'm sorry for the lack of clarity regarding the controls.

During the development process, we faced some challenges as we lost a team member early on, which affected the time available for balancing the game properly. However, I acknowledge that this doesn't excuse the difficulty spike you encountered. Rest assured, I am committed to addressing these issues and improving the game's balance.

I am currently swamped with other commitments, but I plan to devote time in the next week or two to adjust the game mechanics, including spawn rates, game duration, and enemy targeting probabilities. I genuinely appreciate your patience while I work on these changes.

Regarding the controls not being displayed, I mistakenly left the input map for left-clicking to start the game, as it was a convenient shortcut during development. I realize now that this oversight led to confusion when entering the game directly. I will promptly remove this mapping to avoid further confusion and ensure that the controls are clearly presented in the main game menu.

Once again, I apologize for any frustration caused, and I genuinely value your feedback. It helps me understand the areas that require improvement, and I'm committed to making the necessary adjustments to enhance the gameplay experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I hope you'll give the updated version a try when it's available.

I like the concept of this, and it has glimmers of promise. The art is nice, the music and sound design is good. There are way too many enemies, and they can hurt you from too far away. I was able to survive for a while, but it was always a losing battle. I think with some tweaking and fine-tuning the fun-level could be turned way up on this. Repairing a space-station and trying to survive while waiting for evac could definitely be a recipe for a tense and rewarding game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for recognizing the potential in the concept and appreciating the art, music, and sound design of the game. Your feedback is invaluable, and I completely agree that there are aspects that need tweaking to enhance the fun factor.

I must admit that due to early complications, the development of this game ended up being far beyond our initial scope. When we lost a team member, it put us in a crunch situation. I did my best to program everything under the circumstances. However, I acknowledge that the game's balance suffered as a result, and I apologize for the frustration it caused.

Fortunately, I intentionally left many of the balancing tools accessible, despite not having enough time to fine-tune the numbers to my desired level. I am fully committed to rectifying the balance issues in the coming week or two, and I encourage you to keep an eye out for an update in the near future. I believe with the necessary adjustments, we can achieve the tense and rewarding experience you mentioned, where players repair a space station and strive to survive while awaiting evacuation.

Once again, I sincerely appreciate your feedback and your understanding of the challenges we faced during development. Your support and patience mean a lot, and I am determined to make the necessary improvements to deliver a more enjoyable gameplay experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I look forward to your continued support as we work towards enhancing the game.

Hey, it's a game jam! Nobody expects perfection, and the fact that you shipped a working playable game is impressive enough in its own right. Keep at it, good luck

Remember to keep the same resolution for all graphics element, the life indicator is different for the rest of the game. Music/sound is good and make the job. Difficulty….not very difficult but too much ennemy, ennemy spawning alert !!!!! You need to repair things, i kill the ennemy in the are, try to repair, ennemy spawning on me !!! battle, try to repair.. ennemy spawning….well you need to equilibrate that.

Yeah, I agree with the points you mentioned. Originally, I had planned to have two programmers/designers on board, but unfortunately, I ended up working solo on that front. Admittedly, the resolution inconsistency of the assets is an area that needs improvement. However, given the tight deadline, I had to prioritize other aspects of the game.

My main focus for this game jam was to develop an AI system for my multiplayer 3D game, and that consumed a significant amount of my time. As the deadline approached, I hadn't had a chance to balance the gameplay properly and had to prioritize finishing it.

However, I do plan on iterating on the game in the coming week or so. I would greatly appreciate your feedback if you would be willing to give it another try after I work on balancing it. I've designed the game with flexibility in mind, allowing for extensive tweaking to achieve the right balance. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't fine-tune everything.

I am determined to polish the game and address the balance issues, and I would love for you to join me on this journey. Thank you for playing my game and providing valuable feedback. I truly appreciate it, and I'm fully aware of the areas that need correction. I'm excited to make the necessary improvements! 😊
