This is awesome. I've been waiting to play this for a long time and I'm glad I finally found that it's out

The graphics are *amazing*. The characters are funny and charming

If I have any critiques it's that I think the tutorial is too long and involved. I think it's more fun when tutorials are invisible, or at least as much of it is invisible as possible. Also, I prefer a jump that you can control by letting go of the jump button

Other than those things, I'm loving this and really excited to see it progress

I agree with the tutorial stuff, a new simpler tutorial is literally the second thing on my to-do list. As for the controllable jump, I think I tried messing around with it a long time ago and it ended up interfering with other mechanics, but I'll definitely take another look at it. Thanks for checking it out!

Cool! I'm really excited to play more. I finished the whole demo and only have one lollypop left to find. This is one of the highest quality games made in GBStudio and every single thing you're doing shines.

I can't wait to see the other worlds since this forest one already looks so good. I'm taking notes at every screen to improve my own graphics. And I love the characters and personality that shines through

Some other critiques after finishing the demo:

  • The boss music doesn't feel very dramatic
  • I think charging the boo jump could stand to be faster
  • I got confused where I could walk on the map after level 3
  • If possible, indicating that the player collected everything in each level (or not) on the map would be great. Like maybe a check mark sprite or something
  • It starts off very challenging. That's a choice but I wanted to let you know in case you want to start it off easier

  • While I'm a fan of the music used for it, it'll likely get replaced with a new track in the future, along with most of the other songs since I'm just using free stuff at the moment.
  • This is to prevent the player from flying over everything, although you can still do it in some of the slower-running areas which I can't really work around but I'm fine with.
  • Updating the map visuals is on my to do list already, I will take note of this when I get to it.
  • That's a great idea, the next build will also have an area to view all of your collected candy in the world in a menu.
  • The next build will have new more polished level layouts, (I've already made them) that are more forgiving, but I'm still aiming for a bit more of a challenge than most games.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you've enjoyed the demo! I can't wait to get the next one out because it'll be such a step up from this. (I find it to be pretty rough in comparison to the new current build lol.)

Awesome! I can't wait to play the next demo
