Nice use of the theme. I would have loved a visual indicator of a place that is safe in both dimensions because I could never remember where I could safely stand and kept switching dimensions and killimg myself :P
Also encountered the soft lock, but I didn;t read the warning ahead of time so that's partly on me too.

Yeah I thought of that too - but then I decided:
since the player can switch as much as they want they can just check at the start, switch back and forth and make their own safe "checkpoints" in their mind
maybe I can adress the softlock by just disabeling the controlls on touching the endportal...or at least the timeswap
