Quick question and its about the TRUE ENDING (Dean, or Tyson).
Do you have to fully do the entire route for the side characters or is it like, shorter then the 2 main characters? So we escape or something earlier then when you do the main 2 routes?
If you've hit the point when you can unlock the true ending, it tells you what the requirements are. Reloading at a point before then after meeting the requirements should work.
Just to reconfirm, that game is entirely stream safe?
I've fallowed the game for a while but stop playing midway just to have the full story at disposition when I do come back and wanting to stream it... from what I've seen theres only one sort of suggestive scene but doesn't show much, I just want to know
Hello, good day! i wanted to ask about compatibility of save files between pc an android. I started the game on my phone because it was a time where i used my phone more than my pc. Now the gears have inverted, and id like to play on my computer. I managed to locate the saves' folder in both cases and i exported all the files from my phone to my pc. When i did this, i had all saves in the pc, but they have one difference:
-On Phone, Thanatos says i ve found 8 medals
-On PC, Thanatos says i ve found 3 medals
I've imported the whole save folder, but this doesn't seem to fix it. Is there any way to fix the current medal counter?
The medals are saved in the persistent data thing in the save files. Or at least it's in the same folder on PC? Copying that across should update the medal count but it could just be formatted differently. I've only heard of this happening once before but I never heard back on if they got it working.
Hey! Thanks a lot for replying at all. I made sure that i copied the file several times, and i've noticed something particularly odd.
The persistent file in my phone weights around 671 kb. When i move it to my computer, start the game and make Thanatos tell me the amount of medals, the file drops its weight everytime to 301 kb. I don't know why this happens, but i just wanted to come back to you and let you know that i was unsucessful on making this work.
Considering your reply, my theory is that the difference in format is not being recognized by the game in the computer, which causes the game to just recreate the persisten file back from zero.

Okay, so i just finished Tyson's route, path A. I got 6 medals and some plot hole or something? So, after i put a password on day 17, the MC doesn't have to go to the vault anymore.... But i still get some trauma CG. How can that possible? Am i missed something?
Besides, I just read some comment and there is a "path p"? How am i suppose to get there? Is it the real true end?
There is a true end and you need all 12 medals then go to the end of path A so Craig (Thanatos's true god of death form) can count them. If you have all 12 he'll move you onto path P
HNGGHHHHH FINALLY IT TOOK ME LIKE 2 MONTHS TO FINISH THE GAMEEEE (frickin' college -.-) Been playing this since day 15 was out and I just have to say that the game is so gooooooooooooood. But anyway I have a tiny issue

In Dean path c, I've got two X's and idk what it means nor how I'd got those. Does it mean bad choices in patch c?, Plus how do I choose the Path A of Dean or to know what choice's does change the paths (or hints)...
The squares on the save files are for the characters. I think the order is Roswell, Tyson, Orlando, Hoss, Dean, Sal, then Benson, and Oswin. If they get crossed out, it means that character has died.
You stay on path A by using the correct password on day 10.
If you fail the password on day 10, you simply lose two people. I recommend to read on, because the "bad ending" paths are part of the story and MAY be helpful to figure out the mastermind or the password you missed.
In General: The passwords from day 10 and later can be solved without watching the bad ending! Just read carefully whenever Dave starts his investigation and write down sus words on your paper.
Path A: Support Benson, solve all Passwords after day 9
Path B: Reveal Oz, solve all Passwords after day 9
Path C: Support Benson but FAIL Password on day 10
I've discovered the ultimate path, 100% finished game. Solid play, although it opens up to various questions I'd die to find the answers!
Like for instance, who was responsible for Roswell's passing if you didn't get the Password. What happened to the Vault now that the gang didn't go there in the first place, did Memphis take it? And the most mind-boggling question of all...
Fire Axe??? I'm unsure where to start looking for that in the game... Also another question is who'd do it? Cannot imagine Oswin would do it even if Roswell pleads.
No more public updates from now on. If you want to see the updates then its $1 on patreon. There probably will be a bug fix patch maybe but dont quote me on that. Other than that the next update on itch would probbably only happen with the finished product.
I JUSST FOUND A EASTER EGG!! when the game start, i will always put a custom name "Chase" on every visual novel that can change name on it, because the first game i played is echo, but when I just put it on the coffee cup scene I got freaked out when Roswell said he expect Chase look like an otter, so i go back and put random names, 3 or 4 times, its a different dialogue..
i love this game, it's one of my favourites with rtf and echo, i enjoy the story and find out what the password was at all the times, but i have a little problem with the true ending

I'm a Dean lover, he is my favourite character and his route is my favourite so far, so i was very dyssapointed when i made it to the true ending and see that dean isn't the canon romance for dave.
But that's just a simple complaint that doesn't affect how good this game is, congratulations grizz for making one of the best visual novels i have ever played

The game is good, i enjoy playing it. At first i thought this game will be like "Let's MEAT Adam" because i only heard this game is about solving murder mysteries, guess who is the killer and searching code password (also ofcourse because both is gay, adult, nsfw game) 😆 but now i know, i was wrong.
The story is interesting, my favourite part is when the police came to Dave's house and telling the "bad news" about his father. I can feel his sadness 😭 also i love the part when Dave is dying in path A too. Very emotional.
Every route is unique, each character have different problems that makes me love them more. My favourite route is Sal. Because he have many problems in his life but i'm proud he can hold it alone for years.
Last is i'm just want to appreciate you for making nice save section. It make players easier to remember which route and path they are in. There is also color indicator beside the date of the day and beside the characters name to remind players which route they are in.
I'm sorry that you came away feeling that it was useless. The message you were meant to come away from this was that everything happened, so every romance is canon, everything that could have happened did, but the true end converges it all onto one point.
Maybe useless is not the right word to describe what i mean 😅 i'm sorry.
I'm just surprised, Dave immediately choose him to be his boyfriend in the true ending after he became boyfriend/husband to all of his friends in other routes / paths. I thought he will have complicated feeling, like "who will i choose to be my boyfriend?" Because... if all romances in every routes is canon, i assume now he will have love feeling to all of his friends 😅 the other theory i have is : Dave immediately choose him to be his boyfriend because Dave is afraid, he will leave him forever if he not choose him.
Also, i forgot to ask, how about Memphis in the true path? Is he still go to the mansion after that? I imagine he, Dom and Jack still come to the mansion looking for the time machine. Then he will see the vault is open, he will angry and searching Oswin. Maybe he will kill Oswin 🤔
He chose him because he loved him more. Always has. Think back to the big moments of the game and who's there for Dave most; that's why he was the one that was chosen.
As for what happened to Memphis and his goons, that's for the sequel.
1) It sadly fits Dean's character: "Never lucky....", "Always to late". But he may find a new partner regardless.
2) Depending on the outcome of most Path A and B Route, we can certainly assume that Dave and Dean will open a Coffeshop together regardless, by their own or even with Oswins Money (medal hunt). In a way it must happen, otherwise Dean will tragicly die by a work accident as Thanatos mentioend.
so i've basically 100% this game, loved the story but there's something that bother me about the medals, is all the medals are made of bronze? if it's yes then why in tyson's bad end he's holding a silver medal, and the game doesn't mention what medal was it when dave inspected the medal, does this medal is the 13th medal (Ophiuchus)? if yes, then why does it doesn't mentioned by thanatos or anyone at all?
Put passwords you get in the vault and see what happens. If you don't know what to put, look for something that looks like a keyword closer to bad end.
Benson needs multiple passwords. Each are found in the bad endings. Using one will lead to a new chain of events on day 8 and the next password will be in the new chain of events.
There is something on Hoss's route on day 7 that helps with day 8 and allows to avoid one of the passwords. Think it happens on Orlando's route too but once you know the right password it will work on every route, day 8 is a universal one.

Why would you need it if it's that kind of game where bad endings are half of the whole fun? Especially if getting them is required (i believe you need at least one specific bad end for extra content in the end of a path a).
You can just find all passwords in the game, i believe they're not THAT well hidden. If there's something you haven't seen, maybe you need to make different choices with familiar passwords? (also, if any help, i found my notes about passwords and apparently there's 12 working passwords.)
I have found most of them already. But I can't remember them!!! They are pretty easy to find, I know that. I just have very high memory loss and continue to forget the passwords...
I also have kind of a bad memory, but thankfully to their relevance to the plot, i have remembered all passwords (actually working ones and those that just appeared in the story) since autumn and never forgot them. Maybe that's because i have wrote a guide for my future self (didn't really used it while playing though). Buut i don't want to write them down here, as it is severe spoilers and i don't want anybody unfamiliar with them to see them. Anyway, good luck with recalling/rediscovering passwords. Maybe you'll write them down, too.
To get true ending, you need to play through pretty much every route and "collect" obvious things. Once it's done, you can access true ending in the end of path a.
Routes and paths are different things. Route is determined by your partner and path is determined by your choices. But i recommend to read through everything anyway, it may be fun.
Ok ive been following this vn for a while now and just finished all routes, my ideas are kinda everywhere right now so this post is gonna be sloppy.
(Spoilers obviously)
Ok so I wanna start off saying I was always a Tyson simp so I was glad that it was the most "official" ship but I 100% understand why people wouldn't like him, he threatened to SA Dave which could be indefinable in some peoples eyes.
Something I couldn't shake off is the true ending where Dave asks Tyson if he's in love with him and he immediately says yes. Where in the A path, even after Dave constantly (altho this is optional) tells him that he loves him, he always responds with a "I'm not sure yet" or "I'm trying to figure it out". It just feels like the whole Tyson figuring out his sexuality was skipped in the true ending.
The Tyson in the true ending version is deeply terrified by Dave's sudden abilities. Not to mention that the new Dave totally exposed the "Master". So there is no point in hidding/lying,
For one Dave is more confrontational about it and in a better mental state, directly asking how Tyson felt. Dave before had been too closed off to notice what Tyson was going through, or any of his friends really.
Second Tyson's defenses are lowered from the sedatives he's recovering from. It's mentioned he's lucid, but he's also tired from driving all night to the middle of nowhere and just waking up from being knocked out. The walls he keeps between them are paper thin at that point. Also he doesn't immediately say yes, there is that brief moment you can see him try to fight it before relenting and asking how long Dave has known. Even then, he seems sad or apologetic to admit it, like he's afraid of Dave's reaction.
It's not like those are new feelings either, Tyson has loved Dave for a long while and the denial on the mountain had a fair bit to do with his self worth issues along with being a way to push Dave away to someone better. All those negative feelings haven't had a chance to fester and take hold here. Dave in return already has love for Tyson, main game he's pretty much the first of the six Dave will start to question if he's in love with, plus all the new memories he's seeing of past lives along with that encouragement from Roswell clearing things up.
Heck, special mention to Roswell's line about seeing all the different iterations of the universe, but the one thing that never changes is how much Tyson loves Dave. With Dave having his own set of memories now probably showing him the same thing.
Things on path P line up to where feelings just get acknowledged and reciprocated in a cleaner way. After all they've gone through, and how deep we know those feelings run, it feels good they get that chance to just have that happy ending together on this new prime timeline and all future iterations of the universe.
It's mostly the idea of time convergence. Alternate timelines will tend to play similarly. So if someone dies at a certain point, even if you save them from the cause of death, they will still die in another way.
No? If it helps contextualize it. Just think of it as 'fate' wants some number of them dead and if Dave dies it's a TPK. In the true end, someone still fulfills this condition for them, saving the boys.
I understand what you mean. But that's not an answer to "how or why?". Why does fate wants them then and there? How the special someone came to the conclusion that killing some is beneficial? And why the fate is sated just by killing someone else? How can there be variance in timeline without the "butterfly effect"? Why doesn't "the vault" work earlier, before all that, to prepare? There are just many questions without conclusive answer.
I feel like you're looking for answers to questions that go beyond what's reasonable for a story. If there weren't certain things to incite things, to create a situation, there'd be no story. I answered someone else's question as to how things work and there's an explanation using quantum mechanics, if that answer helps then that's something I'm already trying to make a bit clearer in-text. If not though, then you're wanting a level of explanation that'd make the story a lot more bloated.
I think it's better to understand "fate" as a natural phenomenon. It's not that it "wants" someone to die, it just has to happen. If you are really interested "Steins; Gate" is a 24 episode anime with a huge emphasis on this concept. Similar timelines will wield similar results and, while possible, it's very difficult to move to a timeline that will bypass that. The special someone had access to memories of many past iterations and likely came to the conclusion that someone has to die because it always happens. The vault not working earlier because it goes to it's very principle that of unlocking past iterations memories, if something hasn't happened before it's just not going to work. Eventually it reaches a point that it has accumulated enough information that it can work "earlier". As for the "butterfly effect" that theory for time travel is more popular, but it's opposite to the convergence theory on how it functions, i doubt it'd be possible to have both in the same story.
The reader does't know what Thanatos and his Master did behind the scenes and who they were able to trick fate while David senior was not.
Dave was meant to die. Most of the time by getting gun downed or driven over by one of Memphis Goons. as Memphis was destined to kill or order some killing around day 24 to kill.
Speculating:
Thanatos and his Master find a variance to keep Dave alive be bringing him to the mountain. But doing so either result in the Death of everyone, everyone except Dave (and Oswin), or just Dave first followed by everyone else. So someone was killed to appease DEATH, so Dave could live.
Yes, the reader doesn't know, but it would be nice to explain it, otherwise it just creates a plot hole which you can fill with all kinds of farfetched speculations with lots of assumptions. But it's just not satisfying. A more radical example to make my point: Dave was teleported to London without explanation. You sure can speculate how that happened, but that wouldn't be good.
Hi guys I didn't download the game yet but last time I played it was it's just Day28...but since I have read the comments saying it's finished and has spoilers... So I'm just asking if it is okay to go for any route to get the ending?
you need to do every path pretty much to get the true ending, doesn't matter what route you're on though some routes can't get on some paths because of the role they play in the events.
This visual novel has one of the most complex and fascinating characters I've ever seen in any type of fictional media (I think most people here can figure out who I'm talking about). I was pleasantly surprised to find a character that deeply flawed who was also capable of deeply loving someone that much. Grizz, you're an incredible talented writer and never let anyone convince you otherwise.
Regarding the ending (potential spoiler) ...
The true end was incredibly satisfying. The depth of the relationship of the lovebirds always made my heart beat fast when I was playing the game, thus I'm so happy that they can continue living their lives together. This game was amazing from beginning to end (I cried tears of joy after finishing it).
Does anyone have a list of passwords for each route and day ? Please i`m begging youuu !! i know i know where`s the fun in that? what`s the point ? That`s completely the whole purpose of the game to know and to fully experience the game.
To tell you the truth i`ve been playing this game over and over for months that i thought their is only one ending i didn`t know that there was Zodiacs to collect or even correct passwords .

i didn`t know there was other endings , i thought the only ending was them dying , and i didn`t know till now that i need to collect stuff like Cancer and others .
Update: Okay after digging some information on reddit I have never been more embarrased in my life that the passwords was in dialogue's all along, i was soo into what happening to the story that it didn't click in my head about paying attention. Now i feel stupid about asking the password, i feel like the person who was asking " Does Tiktok needs Wifi" ..

Nope, Dean Route on Day 6 is a little more difficult than the others to figure out the password. His Route doesn't exactly teach the "gameplay" like the other routes.

With this build, there is 1 sex scene on Dean's route that's explicit. Every other route would be fine to stream.

i loved this vn since the frist time i read it, at the start i thought that to avoid the murder i had to find just 1 password while i was dating.
So i was skipping all the visits to the vault, thinking that i will have a last tryal at the end of the game, or something.
So, when i fount the frist death, i wasn't prepared for it at all.
my frist path was dean, so when i found him at the greenhouse i couldnt sleep all the night, even when i had to work the next day.
i had to play it again until i find the password and save him.
that was a rlly bad night, but i enjoyed it somehow(?
expecting for secuel, if u are planning to do it.
After password is fully done Grizz is looking at two project. Syndicate (passwords sequel) and a smut game for the people who's been asking for smut.

I believe in current build it's bugged. It should be the track that plays on Path A while reading the letter.

You played path B, didn't you? Orlando got enough balls to challenge his father. :)

Roswell's first day 5 death is from being hit in the head with the fireaxe.
The vault is offline and what was in it gone. So when Memphis shows up it'll just be to an empty mansion and a thing in the basement he can't use.
And yes. Orlando has them. Both physical and metaphorical.

It'd just be the one Sal has and finds under his bed. And later potentially uses on the day 10 event.
It's been a while since I went through Roswell's bad ending, so it isn't completely fresh in my mind. I'd assume either hypnotized Sal or Oswin.

i love this game, it's one of my favourites with rtf and echo, i enjoy the story and find out what the password was at all the times, but i have a little problem with the true ending

I'm a Dean lover, he is my favourite character and his route is my favourite so far, so i was very dyssapointed when i made it to the true ending and see that dean isn't the canon romance for dave.
But that's just a simple complaint that doesn't affect how good this game is, congratulations grizz for making one of the best visual novels i have ever played

The game is good, i enjoy playing it. At first i thought this game will be like "Let's MEAT Adam" because i only heard this game is about solving murder mysteries, guess who is the killer and searching code password (also ofcourse because both is gay, adult, nsfw game) 😆 but now i know, i was wrong.
The story is interesting, my favourite part is when the police came to Dave's house and telling the "bad news" about his father. I can feel his sadness 😭 also i love the part when Dave is dying in path A too. Very emotional.
Every route is unique, each character have different problems that makes me love them more. My favourite route is Sal. Because he have many problems in his life but i'm proud he can hold it alone for years.
Last is i'm just want to appreciate you for making nice save section. It make players easier to remember which route and path they are in. There is also color indicator beside the date of the day and beside the characters name to remind players which route they are in.

I'm sorry that you came away feeling that it was useless. The message you were meant to come away from this was that everything happened, so every romance is canon, everything that could have happened did, but the true end converges it all onto one point.

I'm just surprised, Dave immediately choose him to be his boyfriend in the true ending after he became boyfriend/husband to all of his friends in other routes / paths. I thought he will have complicated feeling, like "who will i choose to be my boyfriend?" Because... if all romances in every routes is canon, i assume now he will have love feeling to all of his friends 😅 the other theory i have is : Dave immediately choose him to be his boyfriend because Dave is afraid, he will leave him forever if he not choose him.
Also, i forgot to ask, how about Memphis in the true path? Is he still go to the mansion after that? I imagine he, Dom and Jack still come to the mansion looking for the time machine. Then he will see the vault is open, he will angry and searching Oswin. Maybe he will kill Oswin 🤔
He chose him because he loved him more. Always has. Think back to the big moments of the game and who's there for Dave most; that's why he was the one that was chosen.
As for what happened to Memphis and his goons, that's for the sequel.

Maybe these two argument may console you:
1) It sadly fits Dean's character: "Never lucky....", "Always to late". But he may find a new partner regardless.
2) Depending on the outcome of most Path A and B Route, we can certainly assume that Dave and Dean will open a Coffeshop together regardless, by their own or even with Oswins Money (medal hunt). In a way it must happen, otherwise Dean will tragicly die by a work accident as Thanatos mentioend.
Just finished Dean's Route A, and it's been a hell of a ride! I can't wait to complete the other characters routes!

so i've basically 100% this game, loved the story but there's something that bother me about the medals, is all the medals are made of bronze? if it's yes then why in tyson's bad end he's holding a silver medal, and the game doesn't mention what medal was it when dave inspected the medal, does this medal is the 13th medal (Ophiuchus)? if yes, then why does it doesn't mentioned by thanatos or anyone at all?

How to avoid bad end: Benson
Put passwords you get in the vault and see what happens. If you don't know what to put, look for something that looks like a keyword closer to bad end.
Benson needs multiple passwords. Each are found in the bad endings. Using one will lead to a new chain of events on day 8 and the next password will be in the new chain of events.
There is something on Hoss's route on day 7 that helps with day 8 and allows to avoid one of the passwords. Think it happens on Orlando's route too but once you know the right password it will work on every route, day 8 is a universal one.

The first two passwords are spoken by Orlandos.
You need to input one of these to potentoially get a scene with Roswell. The final password is one word spoken by Roswell.
Instead of remebering it help to just write down every sus word.

Why would you need it if it's that kind of game where bad endings are half of the whole fun? Especially if getting them is required (i believe you need at least one specific bad end for extra content in the end of a path a).
because, I have finished most of the ending for most of the passwords, yet I still want to see the ending I have not seen.
You can just find all passwords in the game, i believe they're not THAT well hidden. If there's something you haven't seen, maybe you need to make different choices with familiar passwords? (also, if any help, i found my notes about passwords and apparently there's 12 working passwords.)

They are pretty easy to find, I know that. I just have very high memory loss and continue to forget the passwords...
I also have kind of a bad memory, but thankfully to their relevance to the plot, i have remembered all passwords (actually working ones and those that just appeared in the story) since autumn and never forgot them. Maybe that's because i have wrote a guide for my future self (didn't really used it while playing though). Buut i don't want to write them down here, as it is severe spoilers and i don't want anybody unfamiliar with them to see them. Anyway, good luck with recalling/rediscovering passwords. Maybe you'll write them down, too.

To get true ending, you need to play through pretty much every route and "collect" obvious things. Once it's done, you can access true ending in the end of path a.

Routes and paths are different things. Route is determined by your partner and path is determined by your choices. But i recommend to read through everything anyway, it may be fun.

So far password has become one of my top 3 favorite Vns, if not maybe my favourite in general.
I loved the way its written, and i love the way you have to really think and look for what you need, to get your preferred outcome.

The 13th medal technically does exsist, but no you can't get it and you don't need it.
Ok ive been following this vn for a while now and just finished all routes, my ideas are kinda everywhere right now so this post is gonna be sloppy.
(Spoilers obviously)
Ok so I wanna start off saying I was always a Tyson simp so I was glad that it was the most "official" ship but I 100% understand why people wouldn't like him, he threatened to SA Dave which could be indefinable in some peoples eyes.
Something I couldn't shake off is the true ending where Dave asks Tyson if he's in love with him and he immediately says yes. Where in the A path, even after Dave constantly (altho this is optional) tells him that he loves him, he always responds with a "I'm not sure yet" or "I'm trying to figure it out". It just feels like the whole Tyson figuring out his sexuality was skipped in the true ending.
I guess....
The Tyson in the true ending version is deeply terrified by Dave's sudden abilities. Not to mention that the new Dave totally exposed the "Master". So there is no point in hidding/lying,
Different circumstances in the true end.
For one Dave is more confrontational about it and in a better mental state, directly asking how Tyson felt. Dave before had been too closed off to notice what Tyson was going through, or any of his friends really.
Second Tyson's defenses are lowered from the sedatives he's recovering from. It's mentioned he's lucid, but he's also tired from driving all night to the middle of nowhere and just waking up from being knocked out. The walls he keeps between them are paper thin at that point. Also he doesn't immediately say yes, there is that brief moment you can see him try to fight it before relenting and asking how long Dave has known. Even then, he seems sad or apologetic to admit it, like he's afraid of Dave's reaction.
It's not like those are new feelings either, Tyson has loved Dave for a long while and the denial on the mountain had a fair bit to do with his self worth issues along with being a way to push Dave away to someone better. All those negative feelings haven't had a chance to fester and take hold here. Dave in return already has love for Tyson, main game he's pretty much the first of the six Dave will start to question if he's in love with, plus all the new memories he's seeing of past lives along with that encouragement from Roswell clearing things up.
Heck, special mention to Roswell's line about seeing all the different iterations of the universe, but the one thing that never changes is how much Tyson loves Dave. With Dave having his own set of memories now probably showing him the same thing.
Things on path P line up to where feelings just get acknowledged and reciprocated in a cleaner way. After all they've gone through, and how deep we know those feelings run, it feels good they get that chance to just have that happy ending together on this new prime timeline and all future iterations of the universe.
So
without too much detail, can i get a clue on how to get to path B?

I kind of like the game, but it makes absolutely no sense why Dave's friends must die. And no sense on how Tanathos is used.
It's mostly the idea of time convergence. Alternate timelines will tend to play similarly. So if someone dies at a certain point, even if you save them from the cause of death, they will still die in another way.
So they die anyway? That would be an argument if it would conform with the true ending.
No? If it helps contextualize it. Just think of it as 'fate' wants some number of them dead and if Dave dies it's a TPK. In the true end, someone still fulfills this condition for them, saving the boys.
I understand what you mean. But that's not an answer to "how or why?". Why does fate wants them then and there? How the special someone came to the conclusion that killing some is beneficial? And why the fate is sated just by killing someone else? How can there be variance in timeline without the "butterfly effect"? Why doesn't "the vault" work earlier, before all that, to prepare? There are just many questions without conclusive answer.
I feel like you're looking for answers to questions that go beyond what's reasonable for a story. If there weren't certain things to incite things, to create a situation, there'd be no story. I answered someone else's question as to how things work and there's an explanation using quantum mechanics, if that answer helps then that's something I'm already trying to make a bit clearer in-text. If not though, then you're wanting a level of explanation that'd make the story a lot more bloated.
I think it's better to understand "fate" as a natural phenomenon. It's not that it "wants" someone to die, it just has to happen. If you are really interested "Steins; Gate" is a 24 episode anime with a huge emphasis on this concept. Similar timelines will wield similar results and, while possible, it's very difficult to move to a timeline that will bypass that. The special someone had access to memories of many past iterations and likely came to the conclusion that someone has to die because it always happens. The vault not working earlier because it goes to it's very principle that of unlocking past iterations memories, if something hasn't happened before it's just not going to work. Eventually it reaches a point that it has accumulated enough information that it can work "earlier". As for the "butterfly effect" that theory for time travel is more popular, but it's opposite to the convergence theory on how it functions, i doubt it'd be possible to have both in the same story.
The reader does't know what Thanatos and his Master did behind the scenes and who they were able to trick fate while David senior was not.
Dave was meant to die. Most of the time by getting gun downed or driven over by one of Memphis Goons. as Memphis was destined to kill or order some killing around day 24 to kill.
Speculating:
Thanatos and his Master find a variance to keep Dave alive be bringing him to the mountain. But doing so either result in the Death of everyone, everyone except Dave (and Oswin), or just Dave first followed by everyone else. So someone was killed to appease DEATH, so Dave could live.
Yes, the reader doesn't know, but it would be nice to explain it, otherwise it just creates a plot hole which you can fill with all kinds of farfetched speculations with lots of assumptions. But it's just not satisfying. A more radical example to make my point: Dave was teleported to London without explanation. You sure can speculate how that happened, but that wouldn't be good.

you need to do every path pretty much to get the true ending, doesn't matter what route you're on though some routes can't get on some paths because of the role they play in the events.
This visual novel has one of the most complex and fascinating characters I've ever seen in any type of fictional media (I think most people here can figure out who I'm talking about). I was pleasantly surprised to find a character that deeply flawed who was also capable of deeply loving someone that much. Grizz, you're an incredible talented writer and never let anyone convince you otherwise.
Regarding the ending (potential spoiler) ...
The true end was incredibly satisfying. The depth of the relationship of the lovebirds always made my heart beat fast when I was playing the game, thus I'm so happy that they can continue living their lives together. This game was amazing from beginning to end (I cried tears of joy after finishing it).
PW is a horror genre VN because the narrative makes you play most of the game from the POV of a tyson apologist.

i didn`t know there was other endings , i thought the only ending was them dying , and i didn`t know till now that i need to collect stuff like Cancer and others .
Update: Okay after digging some information on reddit I have never been more embarrased in my life that the passwords was in dialogue's all along, i was soo into what happening to the story that it didn't click in my head about paying attention. Now i feel stupid about asking the password, i feel like the person who was asking " Does Tiktok needs Wifi" ..

Nope, Dean Route on Day 6 is a little more difficult than the others to figure out the password. His Route doesn't exactly teach the "gameplay" like the other routes.
