Drag and drop has some advantages, but it's a bit harder to set it up and may not work well with the whole "lock to the grid" thing that I'm doing.

Maybe while setting up, the boxes where you can place things could all be visible, and the appliances could all be firing. The way I kept accidentally switching was I would click to see the preview of where the appliance was firing, and then switching it by accident.

Ah I see. It does show a different icon when you have something selected, but maybe I can show an indicator somewhere else too. Showing all the attack patterns and placement points isn't something I can do without adding a ridiculous amount of extra objects to the scene.
