For the hpc version for android not running, have you thought about making two files one for the apk and a separate for assets (that would need to be installed manually)?

Ren'py packages the files , the bulk of file size comes from visual assets. The only real way to lower the file size at this point is to decrease the # of images placed into the game. I've already condensed them as much as possible without sacrificing  visuals. There's not much I can do at this point and the game will only grow in size with development as well.

It describes having the game code as the apk and installing the game assets separately in another folder, though I'm no programmer this may help for making the game easier to run and update across all versions
