Great submission! I saw you post about it in discord and wanted to try it out

What I liked:

  • The art style and music is really good
  • I love the atmosphere of the game. A lot of things in the environment felt like they were constantly moving slightly which made it feel very organic despite being low resolution
  • The camera placement felt very artful, like participating in a movie
  • I didn't get too far in the plot, but I was interested in learning more

What could be improved:

  • It felt too tedious having to walk back and forth from place to place. In a certain mood I might enjoy this but atm I felt bothered by the pacing. As an example, I forgot the code to unlock the first gate twice (the second time is on me), and it felt like it took really long to get back and forth
  • Moving from room to room could be made more clear. I think having some sort of indicator that you can click on to show if there's another room to move to would help

Also, idk if the title card at the start is a reference to Maddy Makes Games, but I love them and their games so I like that little nod to them :)

Thanks a lot for playing and the feedback!

Trial and error is a staple of point and click games, and I agree you need to be in the right mood to play it. I sped up the walk animation and speed of the player to try to minimize the slow pace, but I wanted an emphasis on exploring the Hawaiian landscape. If I had had more time I would definitely add shortcuts to minimize this feeling. Thanks for the feedback

That makes sense, its not really a genre of games I’m super familiar with. Regardless I thought it was really well made!
