Unless I'm mistaken, the most recent Front version does not have Red Sector marked on Earth. There is only Blue visible.

Just a remark.

Developer(+1)

Can't thank you enough for spotting the mistake. Inkscape for some reason put the little sector in a layer behind for some reason. I just corrected it.

I like the sci-fi concept and the design.   It seems there is room on the card for a slightly larger font; it was quite difficult to read.   The dark background gives  you the in-Space look and feel but it eats up a lot of the printer ink; maybe something a little lighter.   The game ran rather long; the win conditions make it nearly impossible for anyone to win -- with the fuel running out, and one side unwilling to re-fuel, a stalemate can quickly emerge.  Particularly if one side is at a disadvantage, then do not agree to a refuel and grab the draw -- like in Chess.   I do like how the three satellites interact, and the three orbital zones each with there own orbital rate of inertia.

I am messing around with a solitaire variant that may prove quicker.

Thank you for taking the time to play #PA3. I'm actually quite sorry of the timing, since I just uploaded a few minutes ago the final version that hopefully will fix some of the issue that you were mentioning (and that we find during the playtests as well). In particular the win condition is much quicker and easier to achieve and there is also another (faster) game mode. Thank you for the appreciation of the wargame, and I am looking forward to see your take on the solitaire variant.

Also, I know the background is kind of ink-heavy and that the no background version lacks of _mordant_, but I can't find a good compromise. If you want I can upload the inkscape file for everyone to find something more fitting.

Hey there!

So yesterdaty I did some playtesting and I was surprised since the game lasted a lot more than I wanted it to be. Expect some changes to keep the game <1 hour per match to be more dinamic. This will include the possibility to launch in orbit and shoot a lot more and an easier to obtain win condition. Also a turn-limited game mode will be included as suggested here. Stay tuned for the update.

I do like the look of this but I don't suppose you could do a more printer friendly version without the lovely background?

Unfortunately I know you can do this with pdfs but I don't seem to be able to doit on my phone.

Thank you

Developer

Hi SteelLard,
I will modify the original file and add another one without the background on both of the pages so it will become less "ink-consuming".

Developer(+1)

I just uploaded it : )

Thank you very much for doing that.

When I get to my printer i shall be running off a copy!

I have assembled the game using 'PA3' file.

I would like to ask about two things:
1) "Roll a dice to decide who starts the first turn..." - does it mean a six sided die or d20? I'm not an English native speaker but "dice" ("dies") implies plural and "die" is singular form. In this case, it is easy to see that we use a single thing... but it does remain unclear which exactly component we are to use.

2) I am wondering about a possibility to refuel. If both players agree, the game can go on for quite a while. This limit of 20 FP seems like a nice "sudden death" limit and the way to end the game (though maybe without any side fulfilling victory condition), especially if destroyed satellites can be relaunched at the price of Fuel.
I would be interested in hearing other players opinions on this - I admit that I need to play this game few times myself :P

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for taking  the time to playtest PA3.

1) there is a typo there, anyway just whatever die will do, but I will specify to use the ol' regular six-sided die needed for the game

2) It will be difficult to answer here since I haven't played it myself. The point in my head was to create situations where even without fuel or just a couple more FP than your opponent, you can exploit the inertial movement to sweep out the enemy's satellite fleet.

For Example: if you are on an orbit with a +1 speed counter, given enough turn you will encounter the enemy's sat and be able to shoot at them, just by using the inertial movement.

Anyway this will definitely need some testing. Maybe I will add a "just 20 FP" mode for quicker games (but with different objectives though)

I want to give some feedback after more games. The rules seems pretty straightforward - yet still they offer a nice puzzle to think about. I certainly do like inertial movement and the way the 'Oppenheimer' type weapon is available to both sides - though we possess only a single counter for it.

My initial games are more about learning how to foresee the inertial movement to one side advantage - it is one of those aspects of 'space games' that I think Your postcard captures really nicely :) This is, however, an element that land-based creature like me needs some time to wrap their head around :D

I will write more in coming days.

Thank you for submitting your game. Iwill be playing it soon. =)

Developer

oh boy! I am thrilled.

Thank You for Your game! It is an interesting and unusual setting for the design - once I will be near my printer, I'll PNP the file to try it.

Developer

thank you! I just make a minor change to the turn phase, be aware of that if you already downloaded it
