According to people on the discord, you start with 0 food and the marines you get at the beginning ignore food rules. This means you also don't get food if they are defeated. For the rest, as i understand it works just like energy
In hindsight, yeah that would've made more sense but I made UMBRA, RISE, and DELVE in 6 months so some rushed choices have stuck around for better or worse.
