That sounds like a bug, although I have no idea what could have caused it. I started a new game, bought a rope, used it near the clif to get into the nearest cave and waited. 8 seconds, warning sound.  I left the cave, entered again, waited 8 seonds, warning sound. Waited 16 more seconds, ghoul spawned. I left the cave, entered it again, ghoul spawned instantly, as it should. 

Either there is something broken, or you entered those caves before and activated those ghouls on your current save. The eventing for them is very simple and I have no idea how it could break.

As for the bloodstone, ask Tadeas about the quest and he should have the bloodstone added to his inventory for sale. You can also increase your renown by doing repeatable fetch quests and wait about 250 days for the cure quest to start. Solving it will also give you a bloodstone. You can also get a dynamite and clear the rubble in the mine dungeon. I think there are even more ways to get one, but these are the ones I remember right now.

I tried to pick the "One of Us" option and he do said that he knows about the bloodstone and said that I have two option to find it, to a natural caves or a ruined research facility scattered everywhere in the island. Idk about any research facility but anyway, after mentioning the quest I tried to see the trading option but no bloodstone for sale. Only weak healing powder, mortal and pestle, weak energy powder, basic electric parts, and speed potion. 

I think it's because the first time I tried to mention the quest I didn't try to look for the trading option and just went of somewhere so now it's not selling me anymore or maybe its something else entirely, my memory is not my strongest point.

It's possible that the item doesn't get added to trade inventory when you never traded with him before. It is also possible that I removed the option to buy it from him some time ago and I forgot. I will look into it.

Other than that, ghouls can be beaten. Let the quest sit for a while and get stronger, befriend more people so you can get more and stronger followers and just blast through them later.

Ok the ghoul is for sure a bug. I finally got the bloodstone from the mine cave and when me and helena was going to the cave to see the Monolith thingy, the ghoul appeared in not even a second (I mean instantly, like straight up jumping on my face) , trying to kill me. Unfortunately for him, the power of cutscene is stronger than him. Haha!

Edit: Welp, maybe the power of cutscene isn't enough to deal with him... I kinda get the bloodstone at night so I can't really mine the Monolith. Tried to go out and guess what? the ghoul is back. Can't escape him now. For now i can just give the bloodstone at day so i can mine the Monolith, but after that? Can't get out cuz i'll just get insta killed by the ghoul. So yeah, now I'm officially stuck for good.

Ghouls spawn instantly if they were activated on that map before. Since you went through that location to get the bloodstone, the ghoul was still activated when the cutscene began. This is normal behaviour. Getting stuck in the cave forever because of it is not. I will rework ghouls in the next few days to make sure that doesn't happen.

And just to make things clear. Did the ghouls attacked you instantly the FIRST time ever you entered the cave? Entering the caves for the first time on your save file should take 24 seconds for them to attack. Leaving the caves before 24 seconds passes resets the timer. Once they attack, they will spawn instantly every time you enter that cave again. Doesn't matter if you waited half a day or ten years.

I checked the code and did some testing and everything works as it should. The most likely thing is you trying to spawn them, leaving, saving and doing other things. Then returning back and they attacked you instantly because you activated them before.

I will try to look more into it though. Also, try to save in multiple slots when you can. Good for preventing situations like this. Plus there is a autosave slot that saves at the start of every week.

I think the first time i tried to enter the cave is on the beach entrance. I saved first then try to went in the cave. The player character say something real sus when I can't even see a thing so I reloaded my save file before i entered and went on my way. Also, I think the first time I actually went into the cave is also from the beach entrance. I fight the crazy kobold, got the noises, scared, then almost got attacked by the ghoul and run away from the cave. After that I tried to go to the Marcus's house entrance. I got the items there, fight normal abomination, half way to the right side got attacked by the ghoul but managed to kill him. Continuing to the right corridor and attacked by another ghoul, of course i died. Loaded back to after I killed the ghoul, tried to run back to the entrance but a ghoul come again. That's when i used the speed potion and after 8 or 9 retries I managed to escape to the rope.

In that case everything worked fine and there was no bug. However, the entire system for ghouls is really bad. 

It is one of the oldest enemy systems in the game. When I made it, ghouls were super strong and fighting them was basicaly meant to be game over. That's why they spawn sprinting once they see you and they never stop spawning in their sprinting state. Players were not meant to survive fighting them.

Over time, I added more weapons, abilities, I make the game go on forever instead of ending after the first year and I added other things that made ghouls weaker. But their behaviour stayed the same. 

Next update I'm working on is focusing on new wellness system, which I'm going to talk about later, but I will also fix some text typos and completely rework the way ghouls work.

My plan is as follows: Caves will have a heat system. Killing enemies and staying in them for too long raises heat. Once it reaches certain number, you get a sound warning, like you do now. If you stay in the caves longer and kill more enemies, ghoul will spawn.

Ghouls will be slower than the player, but they can pass through walls and follow you all the time. Once they get very close, about three tiles, they will start sprinting and attack the player. If you win, that ghoul will be gone, but he will respawn again if you enter and leave the cave. He will still be in his slow moving state, so no more sprinting ghouls rushing you as you enter.

If you rest, work or train, the heat will reset and you will be able to explore again without them bothering you for a while.

That's basicaly it. In the future I will make this system deeper, so more and stronger ghouls start spawning if you keep killing them, but the plan I have for future version should be a huge improvement over the current system.
