What game developers typically do for actions is using the either the ZXC buttons, in combination with the arrows for steering, or for instance the JKL buttons for people that prefer to use WASD to move around. Space for jumping is fine btw, I'm using my thumbs for that, which is not in an awkward position when using either ZXC or JKL.

I'm assuming you're doing the coding work on a desktop, so just try think from the perspective of a gamer and hold your hands on the keys. You will probably feel right away that certain key combos are a bit awkward :)

You know what. I completely forgot that I mapped arrow keys as well and assumed you guys were both playing with WASD which had me confused as to why you would want x or z for dash.  But anyways in the current build I went ahead and added both x and z and left enter so people can choose.  If I end up doing another build I'll go ahead and throw in jkl too just so everything is covered.  I'm surprised neither of you guys were bothered by having to hold up and left/right for angled dashes, but that's something I really can't come up with a solution for unfortunately.  Anyways thank you so much for your feedback it helped me improve my game!

Nice and fast response! I'll probably try it again later today or this weekend. I think JKL is less common, so no worries. The angled dashes are perfectly fine. On a keyboard it feels perfectly natural to hold up and left/right to move in an angled direction.
