My first game jam | The first 24 hrs

This is the first game jam I've competed in and I have noticed some very interesting things in the first 24 hours, here are some recommendations based on my findings.

The first thing I noticed was that I got way more WebGL plays than downloads. So for people participating in another game jam I suggest you should upload a WebGL build so more people play  your game. I also personally have rated 38 WebGL games out of the total 43.

The next thing I noticed was that people didn't get very  far in my game, they played up to around level 5. I don't know weather this was because the game was to hard (it was a puzzle game) or if people just don't play the game to completion. So I would suggest having you most interesting mechanics in the start of the game rather then as it progresses, this way people have something to go off when rating your game.

The final thing I noticed was that there were a lot of half hearted ratings, eg. rates for rates where they didnt even play the game. This is not avoidable. However I have received and given lots of constructive feedback. So my only suggestion is when reviewing games go in depth and write 1-3 sentences, eg. I liked __. And ___ was interesting. However you could improve on _____.

Thanks for reading and hope you find these suggestions useful. If you have any other suggestions please feel free to comment them.

Note: please don't post rate for rates under this post, there are other posts for you do that and this post is for informative suggestions. If your game is interesting then I will find and play it through the submissions page.

Wow the rate for rates are just flooding the jam

Another suggestion would be to have a proper tutorial, else the game is harder to work out how to play. A menu and settings can also make a game feel more polished.
