Its more likely that I'd do a crossbow, since you can swap that out for firearms but a bow really only works for one thing. 

Regarding death: There are mostly complete animations for a few more actions in one of my older template designs: push, pull, lift, carry, throw, flip, and die.  If you use aseprite a lot of it is salvageable from the 2020 source file on this page.
