Crazy scale and cool looking robots!

PROS:

  • The robots were epic in scale and you definitely felt that once you started firing the much smaller projectiles
  • The enemy robot was very imposing with the coloration and the odd gun for a head
  • The music did a good job of setting the tone for some serious combat

CRITIQUE:

  • Due to the scale of the robots, the buildings are typically out of the vertical field of view when firing at the other robot and consequently turn into some annoying toe-traps since they have collision. It would probably just make things more epic in nature/scale if the buildings just exploded when stepped on to give players more feelings of power and less annoyance from getting caught on something they didn't notice.
  • Hit and health feedback would definitely go a long way for this game since I assume these giant mechs have massive health pools. I didn't know if I was ever dealing damage to the enemy until he just disappeared.
  • Also probably due to the massive scale, but you feel super slow to move around. This feels bad, but only because I don't have some other kind of defensive option to attempt to use against the enemy. If I had some temporary shield to activate or dash to the side ability on a cooldown I would feel like I had more agency against the incoming shots from the other guy.
