I really enjoyed the visuals of your game - I spent a good while admiring them and how the first scene felt. I loved the aesthetic of your game and the story that was told.  I'd love to see more of that narrative and the characters, although you did a fantastic job for the time that we had.

Good conept and art/aesthetic, but the gameplay was a little lacking. Instructions would have been helpful on some mini-games, and there wasn't really any purpose for the gameplay. Filling up the bar does nothing, which was a little dissapointing. Otherwise, good for a jam submission!

Developer

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback, it is highly appreciated. I can definitely understand where you are coming from regarding the instructions, especially with the second mini-game (which is unfinished). Although filling up the bar, keeps the world from glitching out, which is why we wanted it to drain faster, so that players can observe the effects.  While we did not want to reveal too much about the game, I do think communication needs work.

Again thanks

This game is awesome, loved the aesthetic and I liked how you figure out how to play the game as you progress

Rayyaaaaan this game is very sweet! I loved the entire vibe of it, and you definitely nailed the theme. I was also impressed by how you didnt need any tutorialisation!!

Interesting concept! The art was cool, but it did overwhelm me a bit when looking at it all for the first time, the colours all kinda blended in with each other.

I enjoyed playing your game!

I loved this concept so so much!! I love that glitchy is is so friendly and normal when you start the game so it was a big shock that they were basically trapping you and being really possessive over the player. The pixel art was amazing! Really brought that old arcade vibe and it was pretty nostalgic :D very very awesome. Ngl, the candy store game was overwhelming at first cause I had no idea what I was supposed to do but it was so good. I really liked that small little element of chaos. Wanted to ask, was there a way for that game to end? The bar decreased but nothing happened, so I was just wondering. I really like the glitch that came up every now and then in the game! It was soo trippy. I loved it :D Absolutely amazing!

Developer

hiiiiiiii yes to answer your one question, there was a way for the game to end. There was a house the player could enter and a small scene would play. yee we wanted to create a sense of chaos and not tell players what to do. Trying to (very badly) stick to the chaos of addiction and how overwhelming that can be. We really wanted to add more context and games but we really have zero time XD Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We're so happy you enjoyed our aesthetics... we pulled two all nighters for it T-T so your kind words mean a lot to us!!!!

That was an interesting experience

The glitch was very cool. At first, it seems like the glitch is your friend but then at the end, it seems like a creepy cage that is constantly trapping 'Me' within their grasp and glitchy universe. The visual aesthetics were fantastic and the arcade game feel was nostalgic and fun to play with because it's been so long since I've played a game like that. There were a few bugs and confusions here and there such as with the disclam place that was a sweet shop that turned into a drug store, the idea was amazing but the mini-game didn't have much communication about the ending or progress. The other game had the red squares which I really didn't understand but all in all I still absolutely loved this. Was one of the most memorable games I've played so far. Well done and thanks for making such a cool game!

omgggggg thank you so much! This comment made us feel so happy. Truly, it made us feel like the lack of sleep and stress over aesthetics was worth it. We are so happy you understood our game. Yeah, the game with red squares was our unfinished mini-game... we had no time to make the assets for it T-T smh but your comment made this game jam worth it. THANKS <3 - Love, Manticore

Well curated visuals and I like the variety of mechanics!

I liked how the city-scape se-up, especially the depth of the different images.  The games were a bit difficult, the bar was draining faster than I could pick-up the sweets at the first shop! The aesthetic and themes were great though!

Really enjoyed looking at the pixel atmosphere, especially with all the effects and glitches going on. Had a few problems with the mechanics as they felt like they weren't making any progress when completing all the different buildings. Otherwise nice idea.

OoO

An aesthetically pleasing experience this game was! I keep wanting to keep going further in to the world and just find more stuff, the world you've created here feels alive and very pleasing to interact with

And even though they were not complete, the concept of the mini games gels well with this game and how it is presented, so does the audio and obviously, the visual aspect. Well done

Wow! Thank you so much for this feedback. We really did try to bank on our visuals and we are so pleased to know that you enjoyed them. This was one of the first comments we saw and it really gave us a confidence boost. <3

There's  so much atmosphere in here!

The game is clearly unfinished but the artwork, audio and effects are all top notch and it is genuinely enjoyable to take in this  game. The idea of the games glitching is awesome, I just wish that it lead  to something more, and there were more games to play around in.

The chunks of game I got from this were awesome! I really hope to see a finished version of this someday!

Developer

We totally agree with you! We also wanted to drag out the story and expand the world into different games and scenarios. But alas, there are just 2 of us so doing everything was hectic XD. But we definitely wanted to refine this and make a great story for the game. Thanks for your lovely comments <3
