Yep, this co-op is a common suggestion in the feedback form. In some ways it could be a multiplayer variant that's easier to build, since you don't have to be quite so careful about synching the exact state of dead enemies, compared to cutting up players.

Buuuuut if I ever do multiplayer the first thing you have to be able to do is slice up other players! :)
