Use of the limitation
Enemies slowly spawn in more frequent, slowly overpowering you. Even if you "win", you still lose. Failure is inevitable .

Really liked the art(particles, trails etc.) Really made the pixel art stand out!

I liked your game cause the limitation was quite similar to mine.

Although it was  a bit difficult to play with some weapons the whole game was fun to play!

my problems are that the screen size is too small not letting me see most cultists and most of the time i get hit it feels like it's mostly fault of the screen (also probably have skill issues lol)

weapons aren't balanced (was already addressed)

and the camara smoothing makes the screen crunch worse

also could use some screen shake and feedback when an enemy is hit some sort of particle system/hit sound would suffice


overall it's a fun arcadey top down shooter that has a bit of a screen crunch issue

Thanks for the feedback! For the screen size, I went with something like Enter the Gungeon as a reference, though maybe it could be zoomed out a bit more. You're definitely not the only one who found out the weapons weren't balanced, so I updated and worked on them a little more on the updated version.

Excellent art! I think my biggest suggestion is that your weapons could be better balanced. The game is nearly impossible with a pistol, yet too easy with the rifle. One way to improve this could be to give weapons some drawbacks, like maybe the pistol never needs to reload, but the rifle does! Also, once I got my first 100 kills, the camera zoomed to the top left of the screen and I could no longer see my character. Not sure if this was a part of the gameplay (like losing an eye or something). Overall a good start to a fun take on the classic twin stick shooter.

After playtesting the game after the submissions phase ended, I realized it was incredibly hard with the pistol and shotgun, and that you basically had to use the rifle to beat it.

Also for the camera issue, funnily enough losing an eye as a sacrifice was thought about, but that's actually a bug. The camera wasn't being enabled in the later stages.

If you want, I recommend trying the updated version, it's now beatable with any weapon, while still being a challenge for all of them!

I really liked the idea that when you die you sacrifice a body part! Good game!

Wasn't going to be rng at first. Was going to be something to strategize and see what would be better sacrificing first. Glad you like it however!

Nice work! The game has a fun Vampire Survivors thing going where the screen fills up with enemies in later waves. I did find it eventually difficult to parse whether or not I was successfully hitting enemies. Some health bars or other visual feedback would be helpful there. The needed kill thresholds felt a little high for the beginning waves. Overall, this is a fun game. I ended up attempting a run with each weapon.

Yeah once theres a lot of enemies, its kinda hard to see who's getting hit. Never got around to putting in some sort of damage numbers that pop out. Thanks for the review!

Very nice game, I would have appreciated some sound effects or background music.

The rest of the mechanics are interesting.

The only flaws are the too little visible enemies as they blend in with the ground and the too fast movements of the main camera that annoy in the long run. For the rest it is a really nice game.

yeah I didn't manage my time well enough to get to the sounds. I'll add them in later, but they won't be in the original jam version.

With the visibility thing, I do see what you mean, it is a little hard to see with the bg. Thanks for the review!
