I would like to know expected play-time, as I have spend to many $5s on 90 min games! with 10 minute episodes so the developer can say 1-9 episodes!

Frankly, they shouldn't. In a VN, play time depends on reading speed. That speed varies greatly between people. For me in particular, it would regularly lead to getting less than half of the promised playtime if the estimate is based on averages.
Good metrics for VN content are the number of renders, number and duration of animations, and the word/textbox count. Those are empiric values untainted by personal ability. If you've been around a little bit, you know that's what most creators use and players appreciate.
