Haven't decided on which game concept to go for yet, but my friend and I are interested. Just wanted to clarify something - are turn-based multiplayer games allowed, or is the spirit of this jam more about simultaneous/real-time multiplayer? One of the ideas we've been throwing around is a card game, so I figured I'd ask before we've settled on a specific idea.

I don't see why not! Turn-based multiplayer is still multiplayer, isn't it?

That's what I assumed, but the FAQ uses the phrase "can be played by 2 or more players simultaneously" and wasn't sure if it was excluding turn-based stuff. I figured there's no harm in double-checking!

I guess that's true, I guess the way it was written it could be taken that way. I wouldn't worry about it, though, as long as it is within the spirit of the jam.

Hi! I have now removed the word "simultaneously" from the page to avoid confusion, so yes turn-based multiplayer is now allowed. ^^
