I am very interested in this jam and plan on coming to this game jam in Cambridge I own a copy of click team fusion 2.5 on steam and have not ever finished a game in the software but have rather played around in it to get a understanding of how it works I wouldn't call myself a beginner or an expert in the software. I would say I am somewhere in between a beginner and an intermediate. though I am really skilled at art and story telling and consider myself a self proclaimed animator.

here is a video of a game idea I came up with one time and started to play around in clickteam fusion with this concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaSeG-9csDs

I have I have a few enquires about the event which I will list bellow:

is the game jam In Cambridge just for one day the 1st of oct as on the itch.io page it states that the jam period is: " Oct 1st thru 2nd 2016"?

if it's the case that it is running on the 1st thru to the 2nd would I need to find accommodation?

would it be a good idea for me to start coming up with ideas for what kind of small game I would like to create during the jam?

and lastly will there be assistance in using the click team fusion software during the jam if anyone was to get stuck trying to implement something into the software?

thanks for taking the time to read this

if you want to contact me in private

my steam name is: plushdork

Hi mindlessbleat, thanks for your comment and interest in the ClickJam event!

My name is Daniel and I will be helping run the Cambridge ClickJam so hopefully I can answer some of your questions:

  • we are currently waiting to hear whether we can use the venue on the 2nd. At the moment it is just going to run on the 1st but I will let you know as soon as there is confirmation of the dates.
  • the theme for this ClickJam has not yet been announced. It will be announced on September 27th so watch the skies!
  • I will be present with my colleague Simon for the duration of the ClickJam. Between us we will be able to provide assistance with Fusion.

We look forward to seeing you!

hi Daniel!

i would like to be able to use the venue on the 1st and 2nd if you are able to do so. if not possible i still plan to attend the 1st as i plan on securing accommodation during the weekend for the jam in cambridge. i have currently come up with an idea for a simple platformer game (which ideas for the game are open to be tweaked and changed to match the theme when announced or reworked entirely): http://imgur.com/a/fpZ1j

Hi, we only just had confirmation that the Cambridge Clickjam is the Saturday 1st October only.

However, we have extended hours so it will run from 10am until 10pm, so if you are travelling and want to be here for the whole event it is good that you arranging accommodation!

See you on Saturday!

Hello, I have only just found out about this Jam and would love to take part. I understand it is a little late to be asking questions. But I cannot find this information anywhere. If we attend the Jam at the location will we be required to own a copy of the engine (and/or bring our own computer), or will these things be provided?

Free version is available. Also note you can get the basic version for as little as a dollar US right now in the current Humble Bundle!

Thank you for the quick reply :) I will look into aquiring a copy of the software. However this didn't answer my other query about if there will be computers for use at the event or if we have to bring our own laptop?

Please bring your own laptop as there will not be spares. If you have not yet installed the software we can arrange that when you arrive.
