I love your ideas... in fact i was working for some time on a season system.

About your questions. I "code" the internal engines and didn't use any extension for this game or example.
I will think about making a video tutorial for this.

It could be cool, I just need to find some free time to do that.

I suggest to do like have democratic system, if lose then game over

And when press a building can play game about a topic to earn more.
