Patreon actually has a use. At your game’s page, click “Edit Game”, then navigate to “Distribute” -> “Patreon access”. Taken from that page:
You can give your Patreon patrons direct access to your project by linking this project to a Patreon campaign. Patrons can connect their Patreon account to claim ownership on itch.io.
