incredibly fun concept! I think visually its being held back a bit by the fact that you are using pixel art but not a pixel camera. but the slight 3d perspective has a cool vibe to it.
gameplay wise I think you punish the player a tad too much for taking damage. when the ship is transparent I cant shoot, but normally that sort of visual effect would make me think that im immune, which im not here.
regardless, really good work. boss 3 was very fun!
