I noticed you said this is your second game ever so here's some feedback for future jams.
Try to make a bit of a more detailed background, even if it's just a faded image from one color to another it can do a lot to add more depth. Also, try to put a somewhat unique twist on your games to make them more interesting. Other than that, I really liked the sprites in the game and having sound effects is a nice touch.
