Interesting idea for the mechanic but there's just not much that can be done with it. And since there's no consequence for death other than restarting a room there's no reason not to ignore shielding and take your chances dashing through areas if your goal is to beat the game as quickly as possible. Like I said, it's an interesting experiment but not all experiments pan out.

Thanks for the comments. You do get more points for kills than for time though. Guess I could have made that more obvious.

That's fair. I guess my point is that it's not super fun to use the shield to kill the enemies so I ended up sacrificing points for time and fun.

I thought it was fun to ram them with the shield... But that's just me ;)

I you want a ram then make it more obvious, like make the player lock in a specific direction and start to madly run in that direction whenever you use the shield.
More fun than dashing through.

Keep in mind this is just my opinion as well. Other people seem too like it a lot more than I did.

All comments are welcome guys. Thanks!

I could have (should have) made some sort of lock mechanism that only opens doors when enemies are dead. Maybe in a post jam version
