Any time/day should work. People have had issues with that signal in the past, but that was a couple months at least since I have seen anyone have it. How old is your save file?
That's probably why. Since the version of renpy has changed so much (not by choice, the old versions broke) older saves have become broken. So your best bet would be to start over with a new save.
