I doubt this is a coincidence. And if it's not you could mention getting the idea from here. If it turns out you have a connection (hell maybe this is an old game that used to be patreon-only and they got the idea from you or something) and you let me know I'll edit/delete this comment if you'd like.

Also missed a couple key things story wise that work better in the film. For one it would have helped to make it clear that it only moves when you're not looking. It's very clear in the video but not the game. Him leaving his wife there instead of them both leaving only makes sense because someone has to stay and watch the box. Also there is a reason he leaves instead of calling the cops or similar (not saying here, spoiler for the video).

Besides all that, it makes a nice creepy atmosphere especially for a five day game.

Hi, thanks for the comment. You can keep it up it’s fine. Look, I’ll level with you but you don’t have to believe me. Until people started mentioning it I had NOT seen this before. Yeah it’s hard to believe but the similarities are only vague at best.

The guy in the box? Mine is totally different. The one in the film is a an almost human looking person. The box gets dropped off by a friend and there is a phone conversation between them & what not.

I can see why people think it was inspiration, but it wasn’t. Just some coincidence. Regardless, most work these days are based off of something or inspired by something so I can see why people would think it was. I was more inspired by HP Lovecraft & Tim Burton than anything else.
